Who, actually, is quite different from the old boss.
Still, it's never fun breaking in a new full-bird colonel. He's trying to establish himself while accommodating the organizational culture that preceded him.
He's good people, really.
But he's driving me nuts.
Nothing bad, just very, very, VERY hectic and I'm not doing my usual job because I've become a concierge.
So today, in the get-to-know-you buddy-chat session, he takes note of my medic badge and says, "SGT Bunny, you're a medic, right?"
"Yes, sir."
"So if I drop out you would save my life?"
"Absolutely, sir. I don't think I could handle another change of command."

Good one! :-) How did he react?
It's always an interesting dance, breaking in a new boss. I went through that a few months ago, and I think that things are doing just fine.

Classic! Purely masterful command of tact as only an NCO can wield it. :bow2: ^5. (I'm guessing it went over his head too).

The new boss is a *gregarious* soul. He took it all with a chuckle.

Just because a wily old eagle doesn't react visibly doesn't mean he didn't catch it.
:coffee:
A colonel may be a grump or a pleasure to deal with, but NONE of them got where they are by being stupid or oblivious.

Rumor Control says he's the next to go twinklie.

Then that means another gd change of command.
Shit.
:-)
I wish I had a penny for every one of those I played. I could be retired now! Oh wait........
