The Conservative Cave

Hi,
Like many of you on this board, I once was a republican and contributed a good bit to the national party. Once McCain hit the ballot that stopped and I sent money to individual candidates I supported.
Of course, I still get the invitation from the republican party to send money several times a month. Normally I write something like "Until you become conservative again my checkbook is closed and my mouth is open".
It now looks like Boehner is about to destroy the tea party and what they stand for. If he comprimises now, it will just be the first of many because the democrats will know they can wait him out. He has to go and go now. Henceforth, I shall write and return all requests from the republican party with the following note: "Until Boehner steps down and a true conservative speaker takes his place, my answer is not no but HELL NO!"
Boehner is quoted today as saying they cannot impose their will on congress, what an idiot! Seems to me that is exactly what the democrats did when they shoved the health care bill down the throats of the American people. Are there any republicans with testorone left??
regards,

Only tangentially related, but I like to return mail like that [soliciting donations, etc with included postage paid return envelopes] full of washers.
Thanks for paying the postage. :D

Boehner is quoted today as saying they cannot impose their will on congress, what an idiot! Seems to me that is exactly what the democrats did when they shoved the health care bill down the throats of the American people.
And we screamed and howled when they did that. Now that we have power in the house would it be right to encourage and have them do the same thing we complained about the opposition doing?
No one is going make any of us happy 100% of the time. Too many conservatives are saying the game is lost, and this is only the first quarter.
If by this time next year they haven't done a good a good job I will join on the bashing bandwagon, but for now I am watching and waiting to see how this plays out.
-
This is why I wanted Bachmann as Speaker of the House, seems like only the woman of our party have cajones. I'm still a registered Republican, but I've returned all requests for donations to the RNC (at their expense) since 2005 when the spending started to get out of hand and I always make sure to write in the section reserved for comments my reasons for not contributing.
-
Boehner is such a weakling. He has shown exactly zero leadership, just like in the election. He let the Tea Party outrage carry him to power and then he cried. And he is still doing nothing. I hope the Tea Party Republicans are planning some sort of power grab. We honestly cannot wait until 2012.
-
I too am still a registered Republican, but I stopped giving them money years ago.
I will donate to individual candidates that I like, but the party itself? Nope.

:lmao: I DO THAT ALSO! except I tear up pieces of garbage from the can and put in the envelope. It will be so full that it rolls around on the counter :lmao:

I quit sending the RNC money when they selected McCain. I still send to the Texas GOP.

As for the Tea Party, as long as it's full of members loudly spouting racist rhetoric, it will fail. It's the #1 reason I refuse to join the movement. I consistently see racist comments here in the Cave. Hey, it's your right under the 1st Amendment, so knock yourselves out. I just believe it's going to be that loose string that unravels what you're trying to do.

Huh?
Which racist comments are you speaking of? I'm sure that a few at the rallies had signs and such, but I also wonder if they weren't DEM plants to try to make the tea party movement look bad.

I don't want to point fingers at individuals, but just this morning I saw Arabs referred to as "rag heads" here.

"Until you become conservative again my checkbook is closed and my mouth is open".
Ive been advocating this since he started appointing lib repukes to head the committee chairs.
Congress holds the purse strings and he still refuses to defund 0bamacare.
He has been there for decades and the only thing he knows is 'compromise' with a capital C. He is more worried about being popular in DC than in stopping the dems from bankrupting the nation and future generations. There is a window of opportunity here and he INSISTS that we do NOTHING to change the status quo.
He wouldnt want to offend his friends across the aisle and be called an 'extremist'. Well ... that is exactly what we need. Because that is what they call all of us now who believe in the constitution. And not spending money of future generations that havent even been born yet. THAT is generational theft and THAT is what ALL liberal repukes cannot understand. Boehner needs to go in the worst way. And even that may be too late.

Tell me you're not serious? the racist rhetoric you use is what the left uses. I've been to Tea Party demonstrations and there's been not 1 racist thing said. Please cite your sources for this conclusion because I'd like to see it. As for here? I see a lot of sarcastic comments that are done when it comes to race ie done in the DUmp because of the left always calling us racist, unless you consider an honest discussion about crime racist?

As I stated, I'm not going to point out individuals and cause hard feelings. I also base my observations on my job. My city is overrun with Tea Partiers. These are the people talking about how they want all the "Messcans" to go home. They drive through Hispanic areas of the city and constantly harass them with code enforcement and parking complaints. They use the police department as a weapon and extension of their racism. The sad part is that most of the people they are harassing are American citizens.
Sorry, just not my cup of tea. I'm a very colorblind person.

How do you know they're Tea Partiers? as opposed to people fed-up with their cities being over-run and taken over? I assure you, if they were Tea Partiers who were actually at a Tea Party demonstration then you know darn well they'd be on youtube and the media would run with the story. The $100,000 check from Breitbart is still waiting to be picked up and given to the person who can show proof that Black Congressmen were called the N word and spit on.
-
Aside from their "Don't Tread on Me" flags in their front yards and their verbal admission to being Tea Partiers? Nothing.
I'm not trying to offend anybody. Just pointing out a few tweaks you folks might want to make if you want to appeal to more conservatives.

If they're here illegally, why shouldn't they be harangued into "going home"? I don't give a rat's ass what color or nationality they are. In Boston, you have among your larger illegal communities the Brazilians, Mexicans, Africans (remember Auntie Zeituni?), and by most estimates, about 50,000 Irish.
Ship all their asses back. Does that make me a racist? **** it--so be it.

I'm totally taking offense to your comments because not only is that the argument the left uses against us, in this day and age with technology? if that was going on it would be on youtube and touted by the MSM, and I'm sure leftists in Texas would gladly upload a video that would show Tea Partiers in a bad light.
-
Woah, calm down and pull your big girl panties up.
I have to agree with Sparky. There is a lot of talk about racism, but little to no proof of it. Having lived in "Jesusland" my whole life, I know the majority of people are very conservative and extremely few are actually racist. The Tea Party is supported by far more than white people!! I am not a Tea Party member, but will vote for the most conservative option every time, so most certainly support the group that is peacefully telling the truth, demanding action, and voting their words.

Broad brush there much, big guy?
For the record, it's been in so-called "enlightened" liberal havens such as Boston, Los Angeles, and New York where I've witnessed the greatest/worst examples of racism.
Racism isn't solely confined to white males, hate to tell ya.

But you are inferring that it is conservatives and more to the point Tea Party members that are the ones using what you deem as racist terms. Do some of them? Sure. Do a majority or even close to a majority do so? Not form what I've seen. I've met far more racist liberals than I have conservatives.
You sir, are using a pretty broad brush without providing any substantiating evidence to support your claims.

Hey, you asked for a source. I gave it to you. Don't attack me, attack the ones using the words.
Racism is alive in all races. I never said it wasn't. Nor did I say that all Tea Partiers were racist. What I'm saying is that there is indeed a racist element alive and well in the movement. You guys need to surgically remove it or, as I said earlier, that will be the string that unravels what you're trying to do.
On that note, the PD bought me a brand new bicycle. I'm fixin to jump on it and knock out 20-30 miles, so discuss amongst yourselves for a bit. :)

Why should I surgically remove another person's freedom of expression or speech? Even if I disagree with it?
I'll leave that shit to the liberals.

I suppose it goes to: what IS the Tea Party?
If pro-ObamaCare people tried to attach themselves to the movement the TP would probably say no.
People have a right to be pro-ObamaCare but are those the voices you want shouting beside you when trying to advocate?
So moving down the list of things people can say freely but do we want them saying it freely beside us we come to the topic racism.

Hi, I'm a new to the forums but I noticed something, if you don't mind my input.
The thread is, "One way to make our point" and you're suggesting that the left wants to kill freedom of speech. That sounds a little absurd. I think maybe we should differentiate the political spectrum. "The left" is not MSNBC. Nor is it the democratic party. Those institutions are "centered" as one can only imagine them being. "The Left" is much more opposed to all sides of the political spectrum, as there is a lot of misery in this world most of which goes unnoticed, we need freedom of speech first and foremost. Otherwise we'd be communistic (more so than now, with State funding to produce growth and healthy regulations) but a much worse communistic society than Russia, as we would have no social services as a floor to stand on. Without freedom of speech and other little rights here and there, we'd be in a dungeon (worse than the Allegory Cave we're in now).
So how do you get your point across to a person of another spectrum? Try to base your argument off of what the Republicans have done, as in cold facts, as opposed to what we "deserve" because as often as it is touted, we rarely get what we "deserve" from either spectrum's. The worst thing you can do is insult them or their intelligence, that will lead no where and discussion is ruined immediately.
:)

He was a mass murderer on the scale of Pal Pot. So no, I don't. If you look into his records (I assume you won't it's hard to envision any man as sinister as he much less accept the fact) you will find his victims. And they are mostly Mexicans (not to be confused with the Cartel) and Priests trying to bring minor land reforms and a radical Christian message that would date Pre-Constantine. He's ****ed up the economy beyond repair. And when I say "he" I mean Goldman Sachs. If you look at the economic polls post Reagan years and after, you will see the extent to which his financial hell is still weighing down on the general public. If there ever was a Satan, this was him.

It was a mistake, and he was as usual a ruthless dictator to which we have owned many. This still, however, is not indicating true or false statements. So, this isn't logical our interaction. This is you lobbing insults and slights with no real substance.
The next statement, will also contain no substance.

Sorry, that's not an insult. What you're basically saying is, 'if stated a negative fact this then equals an', "insult". This isn't how it works. Malice is not intended, it is perceived. Unfortunately, it's still true no matter what you deem the fact.

When logic fails, demean. I pity these actions. You're responsible for murder being willfully ignorant and compliant. I do however possess the ability to admit fault or have wrong facts, I've been conditioned by academia to be this way. Until you have something useful to counter these facts, it's a pitiful attempt to distract from real problems.

Thank you for putting your body in risk for an ideology of your homeland. It is still noble even if the facts about the war are dubious and ruthless. The military is not the problem. Defense budget? Sort of. They use the defense budget to help out companies and help economic growth. So that's why there are no suggestion to the defense budget. The problem is lobbying, contributions (PAC), State Secrets act, and yellow journalism. I still stand by my comment of you being willfully ignorant and complainant. But I do not blame you.
