Fresh Aigs!!
I FINALLY found an egg supplier
This nice couple at the end of the road who waves from their front porch every time we pass had a yard sale Saturday so we stopped in to see if they had any treasures (they did, I got 3 pairs of Dockers for my (skinnier) butt and a salad shooter) and hanging there was a sign that said "Eggs $1.50 a dozen!!!
She was sold out on Saturday but called me today and i picked up 18 fresh 'aigs' and put in a standing order for a dozen every Friday
Dinner tonight was omelets with avocado and cheese

2. I got my first home-grown turkey egg last night.
Anxious to try it, although I don't suspect it will be much different from a chicken egg.

MRS. ALFRED PACKER
Response to Original message
6. Yaaaaaa! for you, sista!
Nothing like frash aigs.
Are you back to work now?
Mrs. Alfred Packer of course knows fresh eggs, being intimately acquainted now with pre-born eggs.
Anyway.
I've been worried about the prolonged absences of Mrs. Alfred Packer, darkly surmising she had displeased hippyhubby Wild Bill in some manner, and come to a not good end.
Now it's obvious Mrs. Alfred Packer's been sporadic--and at times absent--on Skins's island simply because she can post only when Wild Bill's not around, as he doesn't like her hanging around the primitives.

7. not yet.... sigh
seems there's a major backlog on the security checks
The primitives seem to have a lot of problems with employment-related security checks.
One wonders if "security check" is a primitive euphemism for "drug-and-alcohol urine test."

She's been busy gluing Bangladeshi glass beads to Cambodian paste baubles for her new gewgaw collection. The nursing home patients will glitter like Bellagio showgirls.

Actually, I went to Skins's island's "marketplace" to see her latest offerings--Mrs. Alfred Packer had promised the primitives to show off her new creations every week--and she hasn't put anything up for weeks.

frank, do you know what Bill's politics are? is he a regressive? or a-political?

Judging from reading between the lines when Mrs. Alfred Packer writes about him, hippyhubby Wild Bill strikes one as an intensely-negative person.....and so it's reasonable to assume Wild Bill is a Dem.

Oh yeah, that's a huge sign right there.

I'm still waiting for a photo of one of them planting a double-lip-lock on a chickens butt.
Can't get any fresher than that! :rotf:
Put that chicken down, hippywife.
That one is a rooster. :-)

You're in for a big disappointment.

I don't know about turkey eggs but like LC pointed out in the shout box, spotted owl eggs make the best omelettes. :-)

Never heard of using owl eggs. I don't think I want to eat anything whose dietary staple is field mice.

There is no filthier creature than a chicken, but there's nothing better fried.

True that. No stupider creature either. Though DUmmies are in a close second on both counts.

I get my eggs for $2.50/18 at Walmart.
I can't "grow" them that cheap.

A&P has a 10 for $10 sale going on, you can mix and match, and eggs were part of the sale, so I got 2 dozen for $2 yesterday.

Actually some of them are pretty intelligent for a creature with a brain the size of walnut. I have a few that are pets and have very cute personalities. And roosters aren't stupid at all. Well except for the meat ones. They're dumber than dirt. Dumber than even most DUmmies and that's quite an accomplishment.
