Lautenberg (D-NJ): Republicans “don’t deserve the freedoms that are in the Constitution!â€
"… The Republicans in Congress claim they’re concerned about the budget balance, but it’s a disguise! It’s not true! It’s a lie! That’s not what they want. They want — they want other people not to be able to have their own opinions. They don’t deserve the freedoms that are in the Constitution! But we’ll give it to them anyway."
If there’s a better example of self-evident projection, I’d like to see it. Lautenberg claims that Republicans want to outlaw opinions, based on nothing but apparently some slippage in his tinfoil hat. He then assumes that the government has the power to do exactly what he accuses Republicans of desiring, but airily decides not to exercise it.

I guess it's a good thing that NOBODY elected "The Laut" to determine who is allowed to have what GOD GIVEN liberty. :foff:

Scumsucking jackass.
And, of course, the media are ignoring the comments. They wouldn't if it had been a Republican. Just once, when some Democrat says something like this, I would love for Palin, Bachmann, Limbaugh or some other high-profile Republican to say -- in jest -- the exact same thing about Democrats just to see what would happen.
-
This from the same assclown who tried to raise Millie Fenwick's age as a campaign issue when they ran against each other for the Senate in 1982. She was 72 at the time.
He's now 87. Senile AND hypocritical.
-
Burn in Hell, you superannuated piece of Liberal shit.
-
I think he should apologize. The folks at planned parenthood have gone too far and have sucked up federal and state tax dollars to council people who are irresponsible. Now, if I said this to a liberal they would say "oh, you are so insensitive and bigoted." Well, maybe so, but I refuse to hide the truth.
-
This is setting up a (the) reason(s) for a Democrat crackdown on Republicans. Lautenberg must have studied the Nazis a tad too closely as he was dropping bombs on them from that B-24.
-
What Lautenburg says warrants an apology from the Senator, for it was offensive and wrong. That being said, and I mean all due respect, I don't think comparing him with nazis is appropriate nor necessary.
Then, tell me what the difference is between the laws that were passes by the Germans before WWII that pretty much took the rights of Jews away, and this sentiment. Every totalitarian regime starts to demonize its' adversaries, to make them "less than." I think you know where I'm going with this.

Political repression and racial or ethnic discrimination depriving people of their civil rights, ultimately leading to genocide, are entirely different critters. However, that having been said, Hitler's 'Emergency laws' did outlaw political dissent and ultimately outlawed all the other political parties, so in that way it's not an illegitimate analogy.

Again, no disrespect intended. What Sen. Lautenburg said personally offends me and is wrong, he should apologize. I agree with what you are saying, but I do not want to imply that Lautenburg is as bad as all that despite his statement being a mean, ignorant, and polarizing statement. I just think he is kind of elderly and senile, so I think he needs to just say sorry and watch what he says moving forward.
-
Actually, Lautenburg is extremely Nazi-esque.
I could be thinking of the wrong Lautenburg, but isn't this the same jerkoff who passed amendments to existing gun control legislation that prohibited anyone with a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction from owning firearms?
Take their guns away slowly and quietly, and soon they cannot resist.
The military has had a NIGHTMARE trying to deal with the Lautenburg amendment. Especially the National Guard and Reserve components.
Way to undermine military readiness and disarm a populace.

You are correct. Same guy.

Seems like a relatively consistent thought pattern on his part, then.
Certain sectors of society don't deserve rights or protections.
Disarm them.

Lautenburg's comments @ planned parenthood prove he, like many others, have run out of arguments. Planned Parenthood should not be funded by the federal government, we are broke, and we can't afford it.
-
What a sorry excuse for a life.
-
Lautenberg should have permanently checked out years ago.

Uh, no.
It's a pattern of behavior from liberal thugs that I refuse to excuse as the words of a geriatric kook. He needs to have his ass beat by the families of those who have been lost while defending this sorry excuse of a human being.

You, sir, do not give me my rights, the Constitution does.
Asshole.

The Constitution doesn't give you JACK. GOD gave us those rights and many, many more; the Constitution merely touches on a few of them that GOVERNMENT is expressly commanded to leave the hell alone.

You, sir, are most eloquent today.

I went to Gradegov.com to read all the hate mail directed at him. Pretty entertaining. Is this guy like Schumer, one that we'll have to carry out of the senate in a box? He's not up for reelection until 2014.

Yes, but much, much older.
