Obama is totally playing the Republicans, and doing a fine job at it.
Edited on Thu Mar-24-11 06:36 PM by Atman
Bush got caught lying about the GOP's favorite war. Along the way, he made countless stupid, counter-productive comments that entrenched him, backed him into a corner, and embarrassed the nation ("Bring 'em on!" "Nope, no WMD under here!"). Obama, OTOH, is carefully measuring his words, not playing into their hands. Letting the so-called GOP "leaders" make laughing stocks of themselves with Gingrichy flip-flops and brazen hypocrisy. I'm not thrilled with everything Obama is doing, but one thing he is doing well lately is exposing the child-like thinking and tactics of the GOP.
My support for President Obama has had some ebbs and flows since the happy "Change" days, but right now he seems to be playing them like a fiddle.
I like that. I work in political advertising. These Republican clowns are writing my material for me!

2. Some might call that political "chess"
He has been playing them since day one.
2012 and especially 2014 are going to be nightmare years for the GOP.

14. The 2010 election results are meaningless in this regard...
They were predictable for other reasons, and they most likely served to awaken the sleeping beast that elected Obama.

I've seen the recs swing five points in just a few posts. Only proves to underscore my point: they're skeered.

21. Precisely.
Since day one Obama has made republicans look like fools, but the people who recognize this don't vote republican.
Atman's in political advertising?
Isn't he the guy who made shirts to sell on zazzle? Big business there.
spanone Donating Member (1000+ posts) Thu Mar-24-11 06:31 PMI must be way worse than slime, because I absolutely HATE what that communist community organizer is doing to this Country.

Yep...a real step up from useless surfer dude he once was. ::)

Excellent. The more the primitives feel that 'it's in the bag' , the more spectacular the crash will be. If somehow, continuing and/or expanding Bush era policies that primitives hate the most is 'Playing the Republicans' , I am really looking forward to the encore.

Is it me or does Pedro get more idiotic as the years pass? Or is it just compounding?

He used to write for surfing magazines.A writer's dream job. Probably as lucrative as Pitt's position at truthout.
"The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation." Barack Obama.
I forgot to mention that eons ago, Pedro Picasso worked in the art department of some women's fashion magazine.Hmmm...and all this time I thought "Atman" was some bottom-shelf line of women's feminine hygiene products intended to treat the most serious of the most serious ailments. Either that, or just a generic line of cat litter aromatic
That's where his screen-name, "Atman," comes from. "Atman" is a line of women's perfumes and cosmetics designed by Richard Russell or Bill Simmons or whatever his name is.
This guy sounds like a real brainiac :mental:
Is it me or does Pedro get more idiotic as the years pass? Or is it just compounding?DUmmy stupidity IS compounding and as with compounded interest, it increases daily.
DUmmy Atman is low man (very low) on the totem pole at a half-assed democrat ad agency. He apparently doodles cartoons around the edges of junk mail flyers for mostly losing moonbat democrat candidates. He's their "art director" which is sort of like when the drunken Pitt was "senior editor", or something like that, at truthout. DUmmy Atman can only dream of matching the artistic talent of DUmmy Swamp Rat.

Nope, no flip flop there. Oh I really, really hope they continue to keep their delusions. A shellacking like they got in the midterms rarely happens and shows just how fed up the people are. Not just tea partiers. Not just political junkies. But regular Americans who have other priorities. DUmmies are too stupid to figure out a political fact that's practically screaming at them. People are disgusted at Obama's utter incompetence, his lack of leadership, his inability to make a decision and then lead. They're sick of his secrecy, his arrogance, his ignoring the law, the Constitution, the courts. Obama care and his treatment of Arizona are just two examples. His poll numbers are going down. More people are unhappy with him than are happy. Usually after midterms a president's poll numbers go up because he reads the writing on the wall and changes (or at least plays the game) how he's governing. But Obama is too stupid and arrogant to know or care. The more they feed each others illusions the more depressed they'll be election night. All the better to entertain those of us who live in the land of reality.

Remember how in early 2007, Pedro Picasso made the really stupid remark that Republicans had lost the mid-term elections of 2006 on purpose; that it was some Republican plot to take over the government?
And that it got quoted on the most-popular talk-show on radio?
If I were my fellow alum Skins, I would've tossed Pedro off Skins's island post-haste, because all the laughter and scorn and derision of tens of millions probably did some damage to the good name and reputation of Skins's island, making them look bad.
Pedro Picasso's kind of a chub in that photograph, isn't he?
I always pictured him as being more, uh, lithe.
