Conversation that I had with someone who considers themselves "middle of the road"
Was talking to a friend the other day. Our relationship is strictly apolitical, but it drifted to politics. :hide:
He started off saying that he liked Obama, thought he was doing a good job--agreed he good that should be could do better, but was really pretty happy and would vote for him again. Stated that he also did well financially under Reagan and Bush 41. :puke:
Didn't like Bush 43. :)
Feels like that what happens in the country is strictly the result of the POTUS--doesn't even acknowledge the role of Congress as a factor, good or bad. Doesn't feel that intrinsic or extrinsic factors are at play--doesn't feel that people like Koch's influence elections. :tinfoilhat:
Doesn't support universal healthcare. Feels like all people have to do is work--after all, even McDonald's offers insurance to their employees. :eyes:
He also believes that rich pay their fair share of taxes and we shouldn't ask them to do more. :wow:
He is very uneducated politically. Obviously. And trust me when I say, he was NOT interested in being educated. He is happy happy fine fine in his own little world view.
Yes, we can count on his vote for 2012, but he clearly doesn't SUPPORT us nor can we count on (folks like) him to rally a cause. Sad days ahead. :(

You educating anyone, would be like a 5 year old lecturing a nuclear scientist on the physics of nuclear energy.

5. I tried to put facts in
He might as well of put his fingers in his ears and started saying "lalalalalala" over and over.
He truly is uninterested in hearing anything that takes him outside of his box.
Funny that's what you goons do when confronted with actual facts, not the crap you goons make up.

11. I also just got a rude awakening when a friend of mine made a few comments that made my jaw drop. Updated at 6:53 PM

"Notice how the people in Japan didn't loot and steal like those in Haiti and New Orleans?"
When I told her how racist I thought that was, she blasted me for not being willing to listen to another point of view, "like all those women on the view that never let Elizabeth Hasslebeck get a word in edgewise"....
This is an "educated" person, a middle school math teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was appalled, and am trying to come to terms with what
I see in her now. It is very difficult.
:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
Yeah because mentioning the cultural difference between places like New Orleans and Japan is just pure racism.
I'm sorry but there is truth in, the Japanese people didn't act like animals like the people in other areas did.

16. Sounds like your typical American Voter
Basically Clueless, knows they are clueless and doesn't care if they are clueless
I have come to the realization that we are a nation of willful imbeciles and are proud of it.
He's calling us clueless yet, we saw Obama for the empty suit he is right away, took them 2 years to figure that out.

Well now, franksolich finds this intriguing.
This sounds like the unappellated eohippus whenever someone in the least suggests there may be a tiny minuscule irksome thing about abortion.....

This bouncy is as apathetic as her purported victim is. By all means though, DUmmies rush forward and chime in with your own lame duck bouncies.

I'm in a mood today, **** off DUmmie. One of my good friends is a moonbat. She actually physically stuck her fingers in her ears and said "la la la, I can't hear you" when we were discussing welfare. The fact that she isn't informed politically does not change my friendship with her. She is the same nice person she was before we ever got into politics. The very fact that you were friends with them before you found out they think different than you and now you can't be friends with them shows how close minded you are.
Oh and by the way, stating the obvious...no looting in japan but look at all the looting with Katrina is not racist. It has nothing to do with race but rather a culture of "democrat thought". Other peoples property belongs to everyone. The "haves" should "let those people touch those things for once" as Celine Dion said of the looters of Katrina. If your story is true, I don't believe that your "friend" said anything about Haiti.
If you can not honestly admit to yourself that there is a problem with the generational welfare culture (doesn't matter the race) in this country, you are more idiotic than I thought. You don't have to admit it to your buddies at DU. Just acknowledge it to yourself. It's the first step to admitting that your democratic overlords have screwed up millions of peoples lives by reinforcing the victim mentality. Your political view has ruined peoples lives because you take responsibility away from people, rendering them helpless.

It amuses me that the most shielded people in the biggest echo chamber on the interwebs call out someone for not listening to their tripe.
