I work in Education and cannot hold my head high

even with my own husband. I have to constantly defend what I do for a living with him. I don't make a lot of money, whereas he thinks I SHOULD BE, of course in BUSINESS. Working with special needs kids is "glorified babysitting" (his words) and a "waste of an my education". A person's worth is HOW MUCH MONEY THEY MAKE. I LOVE what I do, despite how little MONEY I make. I left the business world because I wanted to give back for what teachers gave my own special needs daughters. Why is this so difficult to understand?

You in your business world will never get a hug. You will never hear "I love you" from your for profit business boss. I cannot get any respect from a man that I have been married to for 36 years, and raised HIS two special needs daughters. I am ready to leave. I don't care a rat's ass about BUSINESS, whether working for one, or starting one. I guess according to them. I and others like me, are stupid and lazy. Well, SCREW YOU. These kids in their little pinky are worth more than you are.

Between my husband and all these Republican Governors, etc., I have come to DESPISE the business world and everything they stand for. I would rather BEG IN THE STREETS than work for, or join, these greedy, heartless bastards. Excuse my language.

Sorry, again for my rant. We deserve RESPECT. They deserve GARBAGE.

Too much like a bouncy for me. She's either lying or her husband is a total ass.

My guess the other half of the story is:

HockeyMom: I wanna do X, Y and Z. We need more money.

HockeyDad: I'm tapped out on hours. Maybe if you taught regular school you could earn more.

HM: But I love my job.

HD: Good, but it doesn't pay enough if you want more money. If you taught regular classes you would earn more.

HM: But I like the 25 hour work weeks. It gives me more time for personal development. What can you do to earn more?

HD: I'm already working more than 50 hours a week.

HM: Could you cut back on your hobby?

HD: Why should I cut back when you can work more?

HM: But I like what I do. They should pay me more.

HD: That would require raising taxes and that isn't going to happen in this economic environment.

HM: Why?

HD: Because businesses are already leaving in droves for friendlier counties and states.

HM: They're just being greedy. I shouldn't give up what I love.

HD: Awesome but think of this as a business. The less product you sell--your time and skills--the less money you make.

HM: So that's your answer to everything? A business model?

HD: If you want more money? Yes.

HM: I want a divorce! [UNSPOKEN: Alimony is money too!]

FWIW.................I have absolutely no symapthy for any teacher when it comes to their pay.
#1 They actively work for approx 6 1/2 months and approx 6 1/2 hours a day and they make twice as much as I do( this is if they don't have a summer job)
#2 When i think of active military who are on call 24 hours/365 days a year, who risk life and limb for us....
#3 or Policemen and firemen who are also on call 365 days 24/7 who also put their lives in danger, who make around the same amount

Teachers make about twice as much as I do for half the time... what is wrong with this picture??

If this story is true, she pick him, she knew how he thought. He didn't suddenly come to be an asshole in her eyes.

Anyway, her post is most likey a bouncy. What an ass she is for using her husband in her lie and trying to make him into a liberals vision of a monster.

It's a given her husband is an ass. He married a DUmmy. Not a difficult conclusion to come to.

Before the uproar of making sure that public employees earn twice as much as those that pay them in the Hockey Household:

HD sitting at home on the verandah with his wife and he says:
- I love you.
HM asks:
- Is that you or the beer talking?
HD replies:
- It's me............. talking to the beer.

The "I don't make any money - I do it for the children !!!!!1!!!!111111" argument..

Although I cannot verify this as its a violation of privacy - I can say as a letter carrier that one learns many things about the people on the route through osmosis. And because I see the monthly NEA union mailings, I know where the teachers live. And they are in the best neighborhoods, and in some of the most expensive homes on the route. They live in the same neighborhoods where the doctors and lawyers live.

Again, I will never verify any of this to anyone - so you can decide on your own if I am being honest.

As a RCA, I can't verify this as it is a violation of Postal Service policy, but I can also tell where the NEA mailings go by all the Dimrat campaign posters that sprout up in their yards every 2 years.  Also, whether or not BOTH of them are teachers, because they get 2 union mailings.

I also know where these mailings go on all 6 of the routes in our office, but I can't verify any of it.   :-)
