Title: San Francisco becoming a child-free zone as youth population declines
Post by: bijou on March 23, 2011, 04:09:30 PM
Despite efforts to stem the tide of family flight, the population of children in San Francisco continues to ebb.

Families that remain in The City are bucking the trend that has plagued San Francisco for years as the number of children — defined as people up to 17 years old — has dropped from 181,532 in 1960 to 107,524 today, according to the latest U.S. Census Bureau figures. The 2000 census counted 112,802 youths.

The decrease is disappointing news for city officials, who have attempted to counter the family-flight trend by creating more affordable housing, improving schools and cutting costs, such as a college savings account for kindergarten enrollees.

“It’s definitely not a hopeful sign that we have 5,000 less kids,” said N’Tanya Lee, the executive director of San Francisco-based advocacy group Coleman Advocates for Children and Youth, which lobbies City Hall on budget and housing issues.

Who the hell would want to expose children to the depravity on display in SF?  I could care less what homosexuals OR heterosexuals do in the privacy of their own homes, but to commit lewd and lascivious acts in public and be proud of it! :censored:  IIRC there's some yearly Gay Pride celebration and the words disgusting and degrading are mild adjectives for the behavior.

Throw in the drug culture, high cost of living, Nancy Pelousy, well, the rest of you will fill the list out, I'm sure.

San Francisco has always had a low under 18 population. Is much lower than New York.

Kinda hard to create children when the boys like boys and the girls like girls.

I go to SF once or twice a year, and I see no reason that anybody would choose to raise their children there  :whatever:  People who can afford it usually commute in from other areas.

San Francisco is very expensive, more so than New York.

Celtic, I don't know how you stand it, but that's up to you.  I wouldn't touch the place with a mile-long pole.

At the link, the comments are great.  The people quoted in the body of the article are clueless, they seem to focus on economic matters.  Here's a sample comment:

It's not just the gay thing, although that is significant. The immorality of the city and it's very far left agenda create an enviroment in direct contrast with family values. The government cannot create a utopia, they can't even balance a budget. Time to grow up and stop smoking pot in your mom's basement.

When I lived in the Bay area 10 years ago, the only reason I would go into town was because the windsurfing was epic at the entrance to SF Bay right under the Golden Gate Bridge.  Other than that, I had no reason or desire to go into that shithole.

I just spent my lunch eating a sandwich and reading the comments.  Highly recommended that you go visit.  It will restore some of your faith in American citizens, especially if you get too much of the DUmp.

People are smart, informed, and they're not taking liberalism shoved down their throat any more.

Despite the underlying problems with S.F. it is still one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
My wife and I will still go there (when we can) for an evening out (after the tourists are gone). There is nothing like an nighttime walk through Fishermans Wharf out to the pier where Scoma's is, getting a drink in the bar (one of the best) and then going over to Alioto's for dinner.

So Sodom and Gonorrhea are concerned now, because they're running out of children?!

Perhaps they'd have more to indoctrinate into their religions of leftist insanity, if they didn't sacrifice so many at the Alters of abortion, Marxism, and animalistic sexually self indulgent perversions...

I can't believe there's anybody left there.  Let alone any kids {shudder}.

Lolz. It's kind of like believeing that the whole of the city is one big Folsom Street Fair. It's not. No there are not alot of "kids" to be seen in the city (locals), however, it's nothing new.

Now Bezerkley.........that's a different story.   :mental:
