PZ Myers posted this image on his blog:

Note the vast difference between "McCain Vote Share" and "Obama Vote Share" (what does that even mean?). This stinks up to high heaven. Anyone know anything more about this chart?
-
No, and 'vote share?' WTF is that? or 'Inequality?'
-
It's compete BS. Drug use is low? Also they list "Poverty Level", "Standard of Living", and "Economic Output" as separate things with wildly disparate effects.
-
"Creative Class"? WTF is that? Someone who has taken a creative writing class?
This chart is a joke and the only criteria it seems for the author's good graces is a liberal pet-ideology, a la, AWB and class warfare.

:rotf: :rotf: :rotf: Liberal lunacy
Approx 1/2 of all "gun deaths" are suicides and another good majority of the 30K/yr figure is as a result of criminal activity and being killed by Law Enforcement. I just read that the other day.
If the Liberal addressed the automobile as they do guns, motor vehicles would have been outlawed YEARS ago. And, to think, all drivers are REQUIRED to take two tests (written & driving) and obtain a license. We see how well THAT works, don't we??

A complete fabrication, just like the GloBull Warming "hockey stick" graph. We could call this one the "pistol grip graph".
If you want to be shocked and appalled by statistics go look up how many Americans die at the hands of illegal aliens everyday. :o
-
This is the worst graph on gun related deaths I've seen, and even while you all know my opinions on guns I could never use this to back up an argument.
I call :bs:

Unsurprisingly, PZ did NOT post a source and I cannot make out the text on the bottom left beyond "Design by something something something something [Prosperity?] Institute." Hardly seems authoritative just from the "Design by" bit.

Aha! Google-fu for the win!!! The chart is from here:
http://www.theatlantic.com/national/archive/2011/01/the-geography-of-gun-deaths/69354/
Here's the Wikipedia article on the author:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Florida
Sounds like a textbook bullshit artist.
Incidentally, this chart smacks of the chart that showed the IQs of "red" vs. "blue" states a while back.

Good find LM. Reading his wiki page doesn't reveal any accolades, seems like just another paper hanger with an agenda. :pokingpoop: He is right about one thing though, the Artsy Fartsy sections of any sizable American city is full of "High Bohemians". :stoner:
