she was a doll. RIP lady
Oscar winning actress Elizabeth Taylor died today at Los Angeles, Calif.'s Cedars-Sinai Hospital at the age of 79.
"She was surrounded by her children- Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton," Taylor's publicist, Sally Morrison, said in a statement.
In addition to her children, Taylor is survived by 10 grand children and four great grandchildren.
Taylor had been hospitalized six weeks ago with congestive heart failure. Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home.

MICHAEL MEDVED: Elizabeth Taylor -- An Appreciation
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/03/23/michael-medved-elizabeth-taylor-appreciation/
In phone conversation with my teenaged son this morning I mentioned the sad news that Elizabeth Taylor had died and he innocently asked, "Who's that?"
Like most members of his generation, he has no recollection or knowledge of her incomparable glamour (her luminous still photo in a one-piece white bathing suit from "Suddenly Last Summer" will always raise pulse-rates among males of the species), her impressive acting achievements ("Butterfield 8," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and "Taming of the Shrew" still hold up as dazzling performances) or her sensational scandals (the melandcholy details of eight -- count 'em, eight --marriages hardly register as shocking in the era of Charlie Sheen).
Though her later years included generous commitments to charity (including work for AIDS awareness that won her an honorary Oscar) and occasional headlines as a wife of a U.S. Senator from Virginia or a platonic pal of Michael Jackson's, her status as a first rank celebrity ended with her second divorce from Richard Burton (yes, there were two of them) in 1976.

TCM will run a tribute to her soon. a day or two of her movies. non stop

Once cute, if insanely high-maintenance. Sadly, became a total moonbat many years ago.
-
Sucks to hear the news. R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor.
-
RIP Liz. You had the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen on anyone except maybe Elvis.
I remember my mom teasing dad about his crush on Liz Taylor. He never disavowed it. :-)

Gorgeous 25-Year-Old Dead At 79

That's just so....wrong.

I woulda hit it ... still might consider it. I don't care about the tawdry details of her life or idiosyncrasies. I always thought Marilyn Monroe was low rent while Liz Taylor was glamor. Both were really a bit before my time but it was basically an exercise in daydream sex anyway.

RIP Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor.

RIP Elizabeth. I always thought she was beautiful. When I was a kid I liked her because she had my middle name and that of my beloved grandmother's. She may have become somewhat of a moonbat, but she always was a fighter who lived life to the fullest.

Wow! I just heard on the radio that they already buried her. Think it may have had something to do with not wanting The Phelps Clan to show up and protest.

Good on the family. Now she may truly Rest in Peace.
