(Reuters) - The U.S. Interior Department said on Thursday it gave final approval for Petrobras to use the first ever deepwater floating production storage facility in the Gulf of Mexico.

The facility will be used when the company begins oil and natural gas production at its Chinook-Cascade project in the near future, the department said. Petrobras is based in Brazil.

A Petrobras official who asked not to be identified told Reuters that production would begin in May.

Sure, it's a Brazilian company, so no reason to deny them permits or tax breaks.

PetroBras, the pet oil company of Hungarian Billionaire George Soros, gets five star treatment from the U.S. Dept. of the Interior while at the same time the very same U.S. Department of the Interior in cahoots with the EPA are constantly hobbling and delaying domestic drilling here in America.   :bs:

Gee, come to think of it, who was that Hungarian Billionaire that is funding those Native Alaskan tribal groups who whine constantly to the EPA about drilling in Alaska. Hmmm... Lemme think... Oh ya, GEORGE SOROS !!!  :bird:

Sure is a small world, ain't it?
