Remember this? It is often heard as "***** Cow!", now "Go See Cal!" It is Cal Worthington car dealership, mostly on the West Coast.

As a navy brat growing up all along the Pacific coast, Cal is one of those memories of growing up that I just can't get rid of (even now, as I type this, I have the Cal Worthington jingle playing on the jukebox in my head).
I just checked his bio on IMDb, and it doesn't list a death date: ol' buzzard's 91 years old and still kickin' it around with his "dog, Spot".
It says he flew 29 missions in B-17s over Germany during WWII. Just wow.
Thanks for the memories, Ptarmy. :cheers1:

I remember those ads from when I was stationed in San Diego. The cable company always had a couple or three LA stations.

"I'll eat a bug".

He'll stand upon his head until his ears are turning red

He's STILL kicking?
Granted, it's only been 5 years since I saw his commercials, but most of them by that time had "Se Habla Espanol" along the bottom.

Hell, they had that back in the early to mid 80s....

Cal Worthington is/was the best and most influential *******ed used car dealer in the history of the automobile industry.

Bill Handel did an interview with Cal a few months ago on his morning show. Cal still sounds like he's got all his wits about him even at the age of 91.

Not that some California IMPORT would know......

Pay no mind to the wannabe SoCal, HNC--he's just jealous that he didn't get to watch Cal when he did the commercials LIVE on KHJ-TV (back before it was KCAL) and there were used cars where the prices were in the mid-3 digit range.
-
Remember seeing those in Alaska, and I didn't even live in a town that had one of his dealerships.

Nearest one woulda been in West Seattle. Just a small boat ride away... :-)

If by West Seattle, you mean Anchorage, then yes, it was only a 350 mile drive.

He was also the sponsor of of a show in the early 50s called Town Hall Party. I saw Johnny Cash sing I walk the line 4 or 5 times ..I'm not sure but that might have been the debut of that song.
There was some decent local talent there and some of them even went national. Johnny Bond was one . He did Hot rod linclon.
I also , last but not least , bought a '65 Mustang from his dealership in Downey . All of this was before he started opening dealer ships up and down the west coast.
