Gilbert Gottfried fired by Aflac over Japan tsunami jokes
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/gossip/2011/03/gilbert-gottfried-fired-aflac-tsunami-jokes.html?cid=6a00d8341c630a53ef014e5fdbf226970c
Freedom of speech cuts both ways, Gottfried has the right, while AFLAC has the right to fire him. Some don't see that part. Talk about stupidity and ignorance.
Aflac and it minions are full of crap. Gottfried is a comedian. As long as he made $$$$$$$$$$$$$ for these corporate jerks...you get the picture.

How's this guy feel about people making fun of the Holocost, I wonder? Deplorable much?
Personally, I don't care much for Gilbert. Iago was OK, but after that, he slipped into irrelevancy. The guy's done nothing but shitty roasts on Comedy Central with the likes of Lisa Lamponelli, Snoop Dogg, Courtney Love, Pamela Anderson, and...you get the picture.
For that matter, Comedy Central Roasts have been shit ever since after Leary was roasted. At least his was funny. They went down after that. Flava Flav? Really?!
OK, I'm done.

Insensitive jokes are still just jokes. These weren't hilarious, but some of them were kinda funny. This is the guy who said he had a connection at the Empire State Building three weeks after 9/11. I think outrage over insensitive jokes is worse than insensitive jokes. They're just words.
People have a right to be outraged! Freedom of speech cuts both ways! :bird:

It's not like it's a surprise that people are making jokes, and saying shitty things in general, but that is really just beyond the ****ing pale, and not even in service of a halfway decent joke. Holy ******* ****ing shit.
People have a right to criticize the joke. It works BOTH WAYS. :bird:

Aflac, an INSURANCE COMPANY who does 75% of their business in a country that was just devastated by a slew of earthquakes and tsunamis is worrying about Gilbert Gottfried's lame jokes? I think they have bigger things to worry about, i.e. how they are going to pay out the millions of insurance claims....
AFLAC has a right to let Gottfried go.
Stupid is prevalent there. :mental:

Wait, holdup...
Aren't these the same people who will cry in their oatmeal about a gay joke?

That's because they are hypocrites!

And if the evil rich insurance company hadn't fired him, what would the DUmmies be saying?....uh-huh, that's what I thought too.

Dark jokes are a way to relieve tension in times of distress. When things get so bad a dark joke cannot be told then this is the time to change your pants, duck and cover.
This is the time my friends to realise that any kind of joking is NOT going to relieve any tension. When it gets this bad, we know we are in big trouble.
Back aways I read all the pancake jokes about the woman that was smirched to death. Dark, dark jokes that after some time can relieve tension is some.
What is going on at this minute of the day has no room for joking or laughter, only dread fear for us how inhabit Earth
This man has given me a distaste in my mouth, reminds me of the WBC and it's antics. A skin feeling crawling much like those who are repelled by finding a snake in their bed. Shit a " By the pricking of my thumbs, something evil this way comes"

Now, they are acting like that AFLAC is the government. AFLAC has the right to fire Gottfried and Gottfried has the right to tell jokes. Cuts both ways. Stupid is strong. :mental:

We have a weekly conference call every friday morning.
Last friday, my opening comment on the call was:
Who want's to take a trip to Japan, I hear the surfing is great.

Cappie Pondexter. The same one that Imus referred as "nappy headed hoes".
And Cappie Pondexter, again for some reason best known only to her, decided to use Twitter to express her own racism, directed specifically at Japanese citizens suffering from one of the worst disasters in recorded history. Yep. The same Rutgers University Basketball Player Cappie Pondexter who was called a "nappy headed ho," by Radio Talk Show Host Don Imus, and said that was "unacceptable and inappropriate," got on Twitter a few days ago and said:
First: "maybe god was tired of the way they treated there own people"
Then: "u just never knw! They did pearl harbor so u can't expect anything less"
Are we seeing women as the new racists? Is it all because they can't find a guy of a certain color? What's the deal here with this spewing of female racism? Not only that, it oddly underscores the point that the best man out there for a woman doesn't always have the same skin color, so they should get over it.

Gottfried played the parrot Iago in Disney's Aladdin:
He played the bird Digit on PBS's Cyberchase:
And the AFLAC duck.
If Gottfried was anymore type-cast he'd be playing a dumbass ptarmigan in gay penguin pr0n.

Gottfried does not represent any birds.
