Damn the media just keeps getting worst
No Cenk you cannot get yield for a nuclear explosion out of a reactor. The physics and the geometry is just not there.
Oh and the hydrogen was produced from exposed rods... you too can separate water into hydrogen and Oxygen. It is usually done with electricity, but the temps and pressure here, are driving this.
Yep I know a few people who KNOW a lot about reactors and all that. To put it simply the lack of good reporting IS mind boggling.

1. If you can't dazzle them with briliance, baffle them with bullshit
That's our mainstream media these days.
It works well for nadin, too.

3. You know... my field is medicine and statistics, yet
I have a strong general science...background. I certainly understand the basics of radiation and risk. That said, I most certainly don't pretend to have expertise in the specifics of nuclear power plants, the engineering, and the technology. Yet some of the "experts" they have gotten on to discuss risk and generally what is happening (ignoring, the paid industry propagandists) have been extremely questionable and there appears little process to try to differentiate between who has expertise and whether it is appropriate to the issue at hand.
Worst, though, is that while I expect nothing more of the newsreaders/pundits than to ask the questions the lay public would ask and LISTEN to the answers, they seem incapable of doing even that. Rather, they continually interrupt or even contradict the "expert" --that is when they are not repeating the question just answered in great detail and on an acceptably "simple" level.
I despair of ever having true quality media in this country again.... Sigh.
WTF did this dummie just say? :???:

Now you're learning DUmmie. That's how they do their "reporting" on the Obozo and his policies/bills.

DUmmies--this is what happens when you decide to major in "Womyn's Studies" in college instead of something at which you can earn a living.
You know less than you think you do, and the people who are claiming to "KNOW", are just as clueless as you.
Pray tell, nadin, if you know so much about nuclear reactors, why don't you tell us WHY a nuclear explosion isn't possible? No fair peeking, now! Better yet, explain what happened in detail from 2:30 PM Friday, Japan time.

Those people are Mr. Google, and Mr. Wikipedia. Tubby DUmmy nadinbrzhzhzhzhski's "knowledge" is limited entirely to what she can copy and paste from those two dubious sources. She then adds a few condescending "oh, and yes", "I know, I know", "yes, kiddies" comments, and "walla" you have the know-it-all DUmmy in all her glory.

Doesn't this explain NadaBrain to a "T"?
