I'm sick to death of the ME! ME! ME! demands from the right wing
Everything is about them and what they think they deserve. Check out this lame LTTE I just found:
E-tax but no services
Even though I paid the Kansas City earnings tax for 20 years, I cannot vote in the April 5 election to repeal the tax because I live in Gladstone.
The best I can do is encourage people who live in Kansas City to vote against the tax. If you think you are getting your money’s worth out of the tax, consider what happened to me.
I was in an automobile accident on Grand Boulevard near the Sprint Center. I called the police to report it and asked the dispatcher to send an officer to the scene.
She refused. I was told the police do not investigate automobile accidents unless someone is injured or one of the vehicles is not drivable.
Even though the driver of the other car was clearly at fault, her insurance company denied my claim, in part because I did not obtain a report at the scene by the Police Department. I could not get an officer to drive the half mile from Police Headquarters to investigate my accident and write a report.
All other cities in the area provide basic services without imposing an earnings tax. Kansas City does not. Vote to repeal.

Kansas City is the largest city in the state with a crime rate to match its size. Yet this bozo expects the cops to drop what they are doing and come file a police report for his car accident - which couldn't have been serious cause you know he would have whined about his injuries if he had sustained any.
It's also common practice in every city in the area to ask drivers to come to the police station to file a report when they have a minor accident. I know I have done so myself a few times. But then I'm not a wingnut who expects the world to be at my service when I ask. I believe in personal responsibility - while it's just a cute catch phrase to the right wing whiners.
If that's the case then shut the hell up. You DUmmies are all for me! me! me! Where is my pony??? :whatever:

So the guy who was hit by a car has to take personal responsibility for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and allowing the other person to hit him? Expecting the police to come to the accident to file a police report is all about "me me me"?
If the tables were turned, DUers would have been smoking pot, ran into someone with their old bumper sticker coated jalopy, then expect the person's insurance to buy them a brand new Prius.

Wanting civil order is selfish.
Wanting the taxes you pay to go for the services they are mandated to pay for by law is greedy.
Paying for people to not work is noble.
-
Since insurance companies require the police report, this is a perfectly reasonable expectation of services for taxes paid.
The idiots who call 911 when the Chicken McNuggets are cold or there are not enough shrimp in the stirfry? Not so much. Those are entitlement-minded DUmmies, of course.
A little smackdown/reality check:

13. KC won't die without it
KC will have to learn how to budget smartly though if they lose it. First of all, it should not be 40% of the budget and the fact that it is just shows how irresponsible the city is. Secondly, the property tax base is declining because of the terrible choices the city makes, not because the city isn't stealing enough money.
People, and not just wingnuts, are sick and tired of pumping money into a city that cannot manage itself. People like this guy aren't saying they don't want to pay taxes, they are saying they don't want to pay this tax because the city does not provide the services it should be with such a tax. Throwing our money down the drain is not our civic responsibility.
It must be nice to not have to worry about money being taken out of a paycheck, I wouldn't know because even the smallest amount affects my budget. That is why I campaign against this rip off tax and would proudly vote against it if I could.

I called the police in an accident that was clearly the other guy's fault and they said they would not send anyone out. I told them that there will be two cars in the middle of the street blocking traffic until they did. BOOM, cop there in less than five minutes. Given a lever long enough, one can move the world.

I didn't call the police over a $400 fender-bender and got an ass-chewing from the other end of the phone. :whatever:

ME! ME! ME!....the fat lady is warming up and she's gonna sing.
....off key of course.

Please notice that the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher doesn't identify the political party that has kept Kansas City in its tentacles for the past, oh, hundred years or so.

Gees, they are so narcissistic. :mental:

No shit! Ya just have to know how to voice the complaint. A damn meth addict pulled right in front of "Toots" a coupla years ago. They tried to do the same damn thing. "Let the insurance companies fight it out".
Bull Shit!!! This gal had no drivers license and her insurance was shaky to say the least! I told her to call and let them know the other occupant might need medical attention and was tryin' to leave the scene!
She said you could hear the sirens all over town headin' to the intersection!
