Yesterday, in Madison I armed 10,000 people...

...with information.

I had a chance yesterday to take a turn at the "citizens mic", provided by a volunteer who has no affiliation with Unions or any political party. He went to the expense and trouble of providing a portable generator and sound system so that he could offer a voice to the people. My thanks to this concerned citizen.

I gratefully accepted his invitation to speak, and took the opportunity to provide the people gathered on the NE side of the Capitol building with information that will hopefully help them convince their friends, neighbors and relatives of what is going on in our country today. Fortunately, I spoke immediatly after Democratic Assemblyman Peter Barca so there was still a large crowd gathered to hear this nobody.

The crowd reaction gave me a good indication of what the audience might find most useful. Some highlights:

..One in four children in American are growing up in poverty today.

..Today, just today, we will spend $450,000,000 on the two wars. Plenty of money for war, no money for the poor.

..There is no budget crisis. There is plenty of money. The problem is that it is concentrated in the constipated.

...Poll after poll shows that a startling number of top wage earniers believe they should be taxed at a higher rate. It is a tiny handful of the wealthiest of the wealthy who are too greedy and miserly to pay another penny in taxes.

..I don't care if Paris Hilton inherits enough money to snort all the cocaine in Peru and ride around showing her doowah to everyone in southern California. I resent that she would inherit all her family's money while the maids who cleaned all those hotel rooms are living in poverty and dying without healthcare.

Thanks to DU members for arming me with info and inspiring me to stand up and be heard.

Tell you what all the high wage earners who think they do not pay enough can do at least 3 things,
1 Take no deductions at all.
2 Refuse to take any refund of overpayment.
3 Write a check to the IRS for what they think they should pay.

In other words put their money where their mouth is.

9. Came directly from another DU member. I'm not nearly this...

...clever.

BTW, there was a Main-ah who drove to MadTown in support and spoke shortly after I did. He was great.

I worked in your state for 2 1/2 years and found it a great place. Maine-iacs are Supah!!!

Yep both DUmmies pretty much ripped off Mikey Moron.

 :lmao:

I also noticed Scuba is using violent rhetoric, he armed people.

Please explain how DUmmy Scuba's act was any different from every hippie with long hair, granny glasses, and a bullhorn, in every smelly crowd of unemployed commies, since the 1950s.

If that figure is true,  (I can't find any stat supporting it), but IF it is true, how many jobs will that money support?  Military jobs, civilian employees of the military, union workers that build Humvees, planes, tanks, trucks.  Do they think that money just gets handed to someone in Iraq or Afghanistan every day?  They are the ones screaming about "government" money creating jobs...yet when we have a program in which "government" money actually supports millions of jobs, they call it "waste."   :mental: :mental:

You're right.  The Hilton family should immediately close all of their hotels so that all of the poor downtrodden maids won't have to spend one more day cleaning the rooms of the selfish rich people.

Considering that liberals are the ones who typically define what "poverty" is (e.g. no internet access = poverty), I find that number difficult to believe.  However, for the sake of argument, let's say that it's true.  My family and I get by on modest income -- under $40k/year.  We live in a nice house, drive nice vehicles, wear nice clothes, eat three square meals a day and have a bit of money left over for tithing and spending.  So exactly why do teachers and state legislators need salaries of $75k and up?  To live in nicer homes, drive nicer cars, wear nicer clothes, eat fancier meals and spend oodles of cash on useless junk?  Maybe these teachers and lawmakers should give up a good percentage of their publicly paid salaries in order to allow the state to better help impoverished kids.  Just a thought.  I doubt any liberal would approve of it, though.

I'm very disappointed in the DUmmy.  No MIHOP, BFEE, stolen elections, etc.  They're slipping.

Heh! Good Point, Smithy! Tehy only want to support the jobs that keep us conservatives under their thumbs.

"There is plenty of money. The problem is that it is concentrated in the constipated."

The only thing remotely close to bein' on topic with this thread, is the word "constipation"!

I've noticed most you lefties have "constipation" of the brain and "diarrhea" of the mouth!

Give ya a mike and you can bore everybody to death with the same bull shit you've been screechin' since 1968! Do ya ever get any new material?

Must be the reason SNL has gone down the toilet. They haven't had a new idea since Belushi and Aykroyd left! They keep doin' the same old shit, just like you slugs. Same shit, different day!

And Glocks, but apparerntly even wealthy people depend on the laundry  mat.

Well, that and gubmint cheese handed out at the local shelter! Oh, and havin' to shop at second hand thrift stores! Can't spend the money they have saved up for next years cruise for cryin' out loud! Might get lucky with the First Mate this time!
