Where'd they come up with a hundred thousand?
They must count crowds in Wisconsin like the Milwaukee machine counts Dem votes.

Well, The Reverend Jackson was there, and he estimated it was about a tenth the size of the Million Man March.

I call BS on this one! :bs:

The Wisconsin Protest Outdraws Glenn Beck’s Rally To Restore Honor
You wouldn’t know it if you were relying only on cable news, but according to the city of Madison, today’s protest was the largest yet. 85,000-150,000 Wisconsin residents took to the streets to stand up for their freedoms. This protest was larger than any Tea Party rally including Glenn Beck’s Rally to Restore Honor.
According to a press release from the city of Madison, “The largest gathering of the recent sustained protest movement took place Saturday, March 12th with an estimated 85,000 to 100,000 people coming to downtown Madison. They mixed with about 50 farmers on tractors, and some officers reported one donkey among the masses. At the end of the rally, there had been no arrests, and only a couple of minor medical emergencies. Law enforcement would again like to thank everyone who came to the Isthmus for keeping the peace, for being patient, and for respecting those with opposing views.â€
The Madison estimate might be on the low end. According to the AFL-CIO blog attendance was estimated at 150,000, “With crowd estimates as high as 150,000 for the rally in Madison, Wisconsin working people prepared for the next step in their struggle for democracy and the middle class. They are mobilizing to recall at least eight Republican senators who participated in a rigged vote to take away public employee bargaining rights.â€
In contrast the media hyped Rally to Restore Honor managed to draw only 87,000 people, and most of those were Republican activists who had been bused in for free by Freedom Works. The high end estimate for Beck’s rally is 100,000 which means that, a national rally put together and publicized by a right wing media feature with national radio and television shows, at best was able to equal one protest in Madison, Wisconsin.

Beck had over million. The inability to accept facts is why you lose. Even when your head muslim in charge won the Presidency, you lost.

I think they probably did draw about that amount. There was some sort of tractor pull attraction, or something. And they have had a month to stay outraged but I still do not think it plays well outside of Madison. I find it hard to imagine the recall will have any real effect.
I saw a yard sign today that said something like "An injury to one is an injury to all." And that reminded me of something I had read in the self-help literature:
There is a town where everybody walks with a limp, it is considered normal. Children, of course, naturally do not walk with a limp so as they grow up, they learn to imitate their elders. Those who still do not walk with a limp are purposely maimed so that they start walking with a limp.
That is pretty much a hatchet job of what I can recall. But I cannot think of anything that is more purposely self-maiming than liberalism. You have to stunt your brain. You have to teach yourself to believe things that are obviously not true. You have to purposefully go mad and then demand single-payer healthcare to pay for your drugs to be a little less mad.

The "estimate" came from the afl-cio blog?? :thatsright:
What could go wrong?
I'm sure that's not biased one way or another. :rotf:

100,000? Who counted? The Lancet?
-
I bet they are pissed that Japan stole their thunder. Damn right wing weather machine.

Yup. 'Course, they can get away with a lot of shit during this time, too. H5, BTW.
-
Well, The Reverend Jackson was there, and he estimated it was about a tenth the size of the Million Man March.
And that was no where near half a million.

LOL! :-)
This stupid bitch who is trumpeting these numbers has to realize that most of the country doesn't give a flying **** about their silly little protests temper tantrums. We're all ready for spring break, March Madness and baseball season.
-
My personal reaction was, "there are thousands dead, dying, injured and homeless in Japan. The world doesn't revolve around you idiots and your silly 5% and 12%. It's not all about you, assholes."
...and the first 9/12 tsunami of people flooding into Washington was conveniently forgotten as well. Remember those pictures? Changed an election, too, including 700-odd state representatives.

Ok here is what I found.
Population of Madison Winsconsin = 5,654,774 (A 2009 est.)
http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/55000.html
People under the age of 65 to be able to go to said protest is 23.2 % of that number.
http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/55000.html
Sounds a bit iffy but doable if the entire number wanted to shut down the economy of the city that is.

AW meant to say, that is the total Wisconsin, population.
Madison is around 224,000.

I haven't heard any official numbers by anyone other than posted in their thread. And their info has no slant at all, so I trust it. :sarcasm:
However, even though it was nowher even CLOSE to the Rally to Restore Honor, I wouldn't be uncomfortable to indeed say that 50-100k people attended. It was massive, and I watched coverage of it all saturday. Had to deal with the slant all hours of the day, but hey...it comes with the territory here..
The Japan disaster did suck my attention away from the Mad City, but it's always on my mind... :argh:

Until I see an over head that takes in more than a coupla blocks, I'm goin' with ten thou.

But surely the SEIU and AFSCME recall petition signatures will all be valid. Petitions run by DUmbasses are always valid, right?

I'd heard the ten thou number bandied about and they had a street level view on FNC that hit the street in 3 directions and my first thought was Holy Shit that's alot more then 10,000 people. Then they started claiming 100k afterwards. I'd say just from what I saw maybe 25-30.
