Title: Vote NO for the Obama/ Boehner Health Care Bill

Wow. I can see that the other thread entitled "Defund Obamacare now or ... we lose" (http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,56522.0.html) has obscured the subject matter as to mean nothing. What a shame! We only have a few days left before the current Continuing Resolution (CR) is to be voted on.

No big deal right? Wrong. This is critical! If this vote passes... a vote for this CR (Continuing Resolution) is a vote FOR Obamacare! Pure and simple. And if we dont do it now ... it will be next to impossible or impossible to stop it in future congresses and under future presidents. $105 Billion dollars over the next 10 years to implement Odumbocare no matter who is in Congress and who the President is. Im not making this up. By voting to allow this CR to go forward we are allowing tens of billions of dollars to continue to be spent (right now) on implementing obamacare! Read this article in the Washington Times by Kerry Picket:

Will House GOP rescind Obamacare funding appropriation? (http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2011/mar/10/will-house-gop-rescind-obamacare-funding-appropria/)

I cant go into all the details because Im a lousy communicator, especially behind the keyboard. But read the article. Our republican leadership is going to let this slip by because they are poor communicators and they are cowards. They are not even trying to explain this to the American people. We sent tea party candidates to Washington for the express purpose of either repealing obamacare or ... if that isnt immediately possible to defund odumbocare. Thats what they promised to do. And apparently the republican 'leadership' didnt get the memo. If this CR passes we may as well call this the Obama/ Boehner Health Care Bill!

How many conservative web sites do you know are making the case that we address this issue that we only have a few days to address? Well I can tell you ... that I know of none! Not one. All the important issues going on today (Japan, Egypt, Libya etc.) ... this one has an expiration date that directly affects the future of our freedoms, our economy and our republic. This is not hyperbole. We must contact our representatives within the next few days and tell them to vote No on the Continuing Resolution because it doesn't cut funding for Obamacare! And if they do vote for it ... they are history! No ifs, no ands, no buts. And no damn crying (Beohner)! This is no time for cowardice!

I wish I could edit the title of the other thread I made about this. Dammit.

Call 202-224-3121 and tell your representative to vote no on this CR ... even if it means shutting down the govt (which we know it wont do). Please. This is critical and there is a very small window of opportunity here. In a few days ... all this will be history.. one way or the other. Lets make our reps do the right thing, even if our 'leadership' wont.

First off, I would hardly call this Obama/Boehner because Speaker Boehner fought this bill and he is fighting to repeal it. In fact, Boehner said he would put forth a vote to repeal this bill, and he did. Now, its up to the U.S. Senate. Last month, 51 senators voted against repealing the healthcare law. Now, Boehner is fighting to de-fund Obamacare as are others. So, it is a very slow process because of how hard the democrats have made it, but I believe Speaker Boehner is doing what he said he would.

The problem is, the CR's are funding ObamaCare.

Wrong. You are right that Boehner has engaged in this effort previously. But he is NOT doing as he said he would with this CR. If you had read the article I posted above which reads in part:

===============================

To de-fund Obamacare, it is insufficient simply to deny future funding. Until the full law can be repealed, at least the existing and advance appropriations need to be rescinded, just as the House last month voted to repeal billions of dollars from previous appropriations to 123 federal programs. An effort to restrict use of the funds appropriated within Obamacare was thwarted because the House did not waive the same point of order (House Rule XXI) as it waived to allow de-funding those 123 other programs. This was most unfortunate. >>>

Republican leadership appears to be vague about why Republicans did not bother to vote on rescinding the $105 billion dollar mandatory appropriation. Some argue that the fact the appropriation for the healthcare bill is mandatory and cannot be rescinded is not sitting well with conservatives, because as Mr. Istook points out in his testimony above, "The House last month voted to repeal billions of dollars from previous appropriations to 123 federal programs." All those appropriations were mandatory as well.

House Speaker John Boehner, Ohio Republican, believes rescinding of appropriations in the healthcare bill can be done through committee. He told me on Thursday afternoon, "We made it pretty clear of that when we put Obamacare on the floor and the House passed the repeal of that bill. We’re going through regular order. I would expect that the committees of proper jurisdiction will bring forward the bill to eliminate mandatory spending that is involved in that bill."

Rep. Michele Bachmann, Minnesota Republican, and Rep. Steve King, Iowa Republican, sent a letter to House GOP leadership on Thursday requesting that the health care appropriation be removed: >>>

While some have argued that our defunding efforts in the CR should be limited only to those annual funds actually provided by the CR, we disagree. If we do not stand our ground on the CR, leverage it as the "must pass bill" that it is, and use it to stop the $105.5 billion in automatically appropriated funds, ObamaCare will be implemented on our watch, we will have conceded a significant amount of ground on this issue, and we will find it difficult, if not impossible, to regain the strategic advantage in future legislative vehicles.

Consequently, we ask that the following language, or more effective language, be added to the FY11 CR to cut off both the annual and automatic appropriations for ObamaCare's implementation: "Notwithstanding any other provision of law, none of the funds made available by this or any previous Act with respect to any fiscal year may be used to carry out the provisions of Public Law 111-148, Public Law 111-152, or any amendment made by either such Public Law."

It is essential that the above language be included in the CR. We, the undersigned, will not vote in support of a continuing resolution that is void of this crucial funding prohibition.

================================

Obviously I cannot go thru every line in detail, but as can read from even this little excerpt that I posted above that Boehner has decided to allow this shadow funding to advance unlike his previous efforts. Being informed is key to our success here and its so very convenient for the current leadership to "dodge that bullet".

Please, please dont be deceived.

Reps Steve King and Michele Bachmann joins 37 other lawmakers to vote NO on the current Continuing Resolution (CR) and to give back the $105 BILLION!

We must make our 'leaders' grow some stones.

Speaker Boehner is not perfect, but if not for him the house would not have voted to repeal the healthcare law. As for funding it, Obama's plan makes it hard for congress to cut off funding. We shall see what happens, though I understand your argument.

Demand Congress dismantle Obamacare scam (http://morningjournal.com/articles/2011/03/13/opinion/doc4d7c4c8484ee8067591085.txt?viewmode=fullstory)

GOTCHA government is profoundly unAmerican, but it’s what we get from the Obama Administration and the previous Congress that, it turns out, rigged the health reform law to deny the will of the people. The current Congress must act to un-do this heinous feature of the massive health reform bill that has come to light only recently.

This past week, the conservative Heritage Foundation highlighted this scam recently uncovered by the Congressional Research Service. Here’s the dirty doing: Hidden quietly inside the 2,700-page bulk of the health reform bill, unspoken and unknown to virtually all of Congress was a stash of $105 billion of direct funding of Obamacare that completely bypasses the normal government funding process that Congress oversees.

When Congress creates a program, normally it authorizes spending for it in principle, and later, separately specifically appropriates the actual money to operate the program. Under our traditional system, a program that is no longer needed or which proves unwise can be killed off by Congress refusing to appropriate the funds to run it.

In all the controversy around Obamacare, you’ve likely heard talk of Congress defunding parts of Obamacare that the new Congress elected by a majority of American voters last November wants to halt. But the $105 billion “slush fund” secretly stashed in the language of the Obamacare bill was granted directly to programs, outside the normal congressional appropriation process. That’s unprecedented, deceitful and dodges the will of voters who oppose Obamacare and those in Congress who oppose it.

In essence, the Administration and congressional perpetrators of this scam silently rigged the system in order to keep Obamacare running against the will of voters and the subsequent Congress the voters elected to stop Obamacare. >>>

The trickery and contempt for the American public embodied in the Obamacare slush fund scam is beyond disgusting. >>> They rigged Obamacare specifically to thwart you from stopping it. >>> What must be done to take back control of our money and our health care is for the current Congress to comb through all 2,700 pages of the Obamacare deception and specifically deny funding for each of the rigged programs, Heritage notes. Nothing short of that will un-do the damage done to us by the unscrupulous weasels who foisted this monumental deception on the American public.

==========================

This is why it is urgent that we call our representatives to stop the current CR as it is now worded. We must stop this $105B slush fund as it continues on its merry way while our 'leaders' worry too much about 'funding' govt services to avoid a 'shut down'. Which we know is a bogus argument. Please make the calls, flood the switchboards and make the repukes do what we sent them to Washington to do. Now! We only have until tuesday or wednesday folks. I posted the numbers above.
