The earth is keeps sending loud messages to change course. It is just a matter of time before the
Peninsula here in California gets hit with a sunami. I think we are too late and the planet will do whatever she can to heal herself.
This poster gets pounded in all sorts of ways for being stupid. However, some responses are pretty funny.

It's not nice to fool mother nature....

Right. But if you cite the Bible, you're a kook.

This thread is AWESOME! :lmao:

72. The earth is just a rock. Its not saying anything. It doesn't care what we do.
The earth has no concern about what humans do. It is not intelligent. Its a planet, nothing more.
People are the only intelligent force capable of voicing their opinions on this planet.
Lets try not to get all squishy by assigning motives to a rock. thank you.

73. Easy there...
It is not just 'a rock' and it really is a living, breathing organism on it's own.

It is just a rock despite all the little cartoons you may watch.

After looking at some of the videos of the earthquake and tsunami, I'm wondering what the idiots who think mankind affects the earth--this global warming bullshit and somesuch--are thinking now.
Of course, such idiots live in big cities with big buildings, and so have no idea how strong and vast nature is.
If big crowded cities, dirt, and congestion is all one sees, well, that's the whole world to one.
Those of us who live out in the vast open unpeopled Sandhills of Nebraska, eyewitnessing casual thunderstorms that pack the punch of millions of Hiroshimas, know that man, individually or cumulatively, is nothing, nada, zilch, zero, when compared with nature.

25. I believe drilling for oil thousands of miles below surface causes major damage and
is the reason for these tsunami's.

45. I'm not saying one time deal. I am ssying the constant drilling is
causing these earthquakes. Scientists are still learning about fault lines. I wouldn't be shocked if scientists began to parrot me in the future.
-
Hey, DUmmies, earthquakes (of different magnitudes) happen EVERY SINGLE DAY! This earthquake is/was very tragic.
-
How about this primitive - the Pacific Ring of Fire is a giant subduction zone - and unfortunately, this results in earthquakes and tsunamis - some of which result in untold devastation and tragedy.
As humans, we are incapable of digging deep enough to make earthquakes. We get our oil from places underground where it has seeped up.

No kidding -- Primitives, the crust is give or take 65 miles deep. 4 thousand miles will put you at give or take the center of the earth.
-
While the primitives are clearly incapable of basic measurement, the ability to trigger earthquakes through drilling is known.
We have measured smaller earthquakes that have occurred as a direct result of drilling activities. Whether or not larger events can be triggered is currently unknown, but it's a very active area of research.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/discussion/2010/03/08/DI2010030802570.html
It's completely erroneous to say that earthquakes occur with more frequency or violence than any other period in the earth's history, however.

Their beloved hero, Nancy Pelosi, believe that oil is $4.00/gallon, due to oilmen occupying the Whitehouse 2001-2008, and that natural gas is not a fossil fuel.
-
What sort of fundamental failure to grasp science would lead someone to believe natural gas is anything other than a fossil fuel?
-
Democrats believe in manmade global warming, so this thread isn't really far-fetched for them.
-

Well, the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.

Notice something unusual, DUmmies? Liberal havens like COMMIEFORNIA getting the flush so that the planet can "heal herself"?
-
Drill baby drill. Get that oil out from between the plates. Remove that grease, no more plate slippage, no more earth quakes....see how simple it is to stop earth quakes.[DU/mode]

People in cities are so far removed from reality, they really don't get it at all. I wonder how many of them have never seen the fury of a good thunderstorm, never seen even a small tornado, never walked outside when the wind was flinging sand around hard enough to take your skin off or flinging snow so hard you can't see your house after 10 steps. They certainly can't really comprehend the miles and miles of empty land we know (and love.) Either that, or the pollution makes them all :mental: :loser:.

5. I knew someone would receive this message wrong. What is happening sucks,
but this will continue to happen. Every one on this planet will feel climate change at some point. I have been preparing for this because the California coast will eventually be hit.
Hopefully all moonbats will be there when this happens.
Know it all Nadin...

I know what theory you are talking about, but so far we have not gotten a good correlation, even if it is possible.

Isn't it interesting that these same people are against the space program and think any colonization of space is human pollution.

Wouldn't space colonization be saying we don't believe in G-d's plan?
