Title: Checking in from Manhattan's Lower East Side
Post by: ByeShea on March 10, 2011, 07:18:57 PM
Hi all.

By respecting (love) myself, I can respect (love) others.  This means I can hear other people's view points without flipping out and leaving the state like a Wisconsin state senator.

And I need that patience because I'm surrounded by ... I'll keep it clean and just refer to the earless and transparent excuse-making machines I swim through every day as Democrats.

And I'm happy to report that here in the land of hipsters and naughtily rebellious trust-funders overt Obama worship has at least gone underground.  Aside from the occasional jab at Fox News (liberals do a better job of keeping me abreast of Fox news than does Fox) politics is the last thing Manhattanites want to talk about.

I'm not saying Obama has lost a single vote here in NYC, but it's clear to me that the masses realize what many of us knew all along - the savior magician is merely a trickster.

I don't know about you, but this gives me hope for change.

Actual Lower East Side or more Soho/East Village?

I used to get to do weekends in NYC when I had time (and money).  No way in hell I'd ever live in NYC, even if I could afford it.  Couple of shows, a nice dinner, then back to my quiet and humble abode.

But welcome, flatlander.

I thought SoHo was on the west side...actually seemed like the southwest side to me. Am I confused? It's always possible.

You ought to see my former soldier Laurel. She lives in NYC and is hot as hell. Looks like a cross between Tura Satana and Betty Paige. Conservative to the core. Well, she did spend 8 years in the US Army afterall. Would have made Sergeant until I dropped a trailer on her leg.

Welcome, ByeShea.  :cheersmate:

Happened to be Facebooking a little last night, something I do maybe once a week, and I ran across some of that very same tripe that you'd mentioned.

Nary a word about Lord Zero, but there is all kinds of hatred spewed toward conservatism.

Thank God for that little X up in the top right corner of the screen.

Welcome, sir.

How'd you find us?

No malicious intent behind the query; it's just as marketing director for conservativecave, I like to know what works, and what doesn't work, in bringing people here.

Someone forwarded me a DemocraticUnderground quote as highlighted on NewsBusters; then someone in comments mentioned this site.

THEN I looked at this site and was sufficiently satisfied no one takes themselves too seriously, so I piped up.

Most of your post went over my head, except for "is hot as hell".

I guess I wouldn't mind embedding her company.

She's a conservative, that lives in NYC. The rest was immaterial.

....but if Shea has anything to do with the Mets, you two wouldn't get along. She's die-hard Yankme.

The stinking heart of the LES, Rivington St - or as I call it past 8pm every night: "Naw'lins".

Is there a part of the world where being called a "flatlander" is fighting words?

Yes, it does.  And our romance was nice (and hot) while it lasted but whoever she is, she is what's wrong with America.

Yup--New Hampshire, or Cow Hampshire as some refer to my humble home.

Hey, at least you're within spitting distance of Little Italy.  I loved the Festival of San Gennaro when I was there for it one year.  Can't even walk on the streets then, but ah, the food...
