What Scott Walker's "budget repair" bill costs me:

This is from an email from my daughter. She is a library assistant and a musician trying to find a full time job. She is a member of the American Federation of Musicians:
As a library assistant, she makes $1212.00 gross every two weeks. $15.15 per hour, 40 hours per week.
She contributes 5.8% of that, $70.30 to the Wisconsin Retirement system. That could change from the defined contribution at the whim of the governor, with his new bill.
Her health coverage costs $529.00 per month. She contributes 12.6% of this, or $66.67 per month. If Greedy Scott gets his way, $103.64 per check will be gone. She will make less than she did last year.
She fills in at the Madison Symphony, and plays in the Racine Symphony, which is per service. She teaches an online class through city colleges of Chicago. She is a graduate of Lawrence and Carnegie Mellon.
What the hell is she supposed to do? Get a fourth job?
She says she will have to leave Madison, and that will break her heart. She can't handle a two hundred dollar per month pay cut.
Yes, she is just a greedy public employee. (Do I need sarcasm here)?
I got nothing against symphonies but...

Why do people need to pay for this skill set with tax dollars?
I've got nothing against blacksmiths, basket-weavers or phone sanitizing technicians but before you choose a career path you need to ensure it supports you or you are willing to live within your means, not demand the government take money from working families to support your non-essential ass when they would never do so on their own.

$15 an hour and she's only paying $66 into her health insurance? Cry me a river. I was making $12 an hour last year and paying almost twice that for my insurance AND I have student loans to pay.
I would LOVE a $30k a year job (and a side gig that pays whenever I show up).

Correction, she is currently holding a fairly entry level full time job, with side jobs that pay. Her best options would be to look at the growth potential of her current job and stick it out if there is a substantial increase in her future, find a new job, or find a way to live within her means.

Dear DUmmies:
Cry me a friggin river. I pay $45 a WEEK, or $90 a paycheck, and they want to up that. I also put in 14 percent of my paycheck into a 401(k) which I may have to cut back because of that "inflation" your hero Obumbler keeps denying exists. I also pay for my doctor visits, and about $75 a month for my prescriptions. I'd use more OTC meds and then get reimbursed via my HCRA, but again, your hero Obumbler took that option away from me too.
Don't even get me started on the taxes that are taken out. Suffice to say I pay more in federal taxes/SS/FICA than she GROSSES, DUmmies.

Ok DUchebag. Let me stop you right there. What party was it that made sure banks gave loans for homes to people that couldn't afford them?! Was it the Republican party or the communists, I mean,the Democratic party? Oh, and how 'bout that Hellcare law the Obozo put into place?? Seems like more and more people's health insurance rates are going up,....not down. And you wonder why your daughter has a hard time finding a job or getting good pay?!? I guess primitives really are more stupid than I thought.

Yet she does not pay the 7.7% FICA tax. Nor does her employer pay the other 7.7% which could be going to her salary as in the private sector.
I'm getting pretty ****ing tired of whining about paying less than I do for SS, which I will never see and get about 1/2 of.
Oh yeah and we work 33% more too.

Musicians are just like pro sports. There's a whole shit load that think they're in the league, but very few who are chosen and actually make the big bucks.
She's tryin' to make a livin' as a musician? You're kiddin' right? Don't tell me, she went to college for 6 years on my dime to get there, too!
