Title: Letter From Children. True and funny.
Post by: Texacon on March 10, 2011, 01:46:44 PM
Most of y'all know I do real estate and while out showing a rental property a couple of weeks ago I noticed a small glass globe, broken, in the middle of the driveway of the house I was showing.  As I walked up to the broken glass I noticed a piece of paper under it.  Out in the elements I found this;

Which box DID you check?  And you obviously took it, so you could scan it.  If you checked yes for forgive, are you going back to leave it?????

Were they expecting you to put it back where you found it?

LOL!  Well, I would have checked the forgive box and left it there but we were having some terribly unreasonable weather at the time.  There would have been no way to keep it dry and with the wind we were having no way to make sure it stayed at the house.

I've wanted to find the parents to give them the letter to keep for the kids later in life but I can't figure out which kids left it.

As mentioned above, I couldn't leave it at the time and I can't figure out which kids left it or I would give it to the parents as a keepsake.

I was laughing so hard when I picked it up I couldn't talk to the prospects!

It had already gotten a little bit wet so I had to dry it out when I got it back to the office.

Make a copy of it, return the original, and put out a webcam.   :-)

And yes Chris, they are expecting a box checked.  That is why they said they hoped they had a pen or pencil.

Yup!  And as mentioned above I couldn't do that.  Heck I didn't even have a pen or a pincle with me!

Isn't that dangerous in your line of business, sir, not having a pen handy for signing a contract?

I mean, the time it takes to find a pen, the potential customer or tenant could change his mind.

That's why salesmen always have pens handy.

I forgot to mention they had cleaned up MOST of the glass and placed it all inside what was left of the globe which was all placed on top of the letter.

Obviously some well raised kids!

Well frank, I'm in a very unique area.  Most of the homes, 99%, that I deal with are within a 2 mile radius of my office.  Most of my clients meet me at my office and most will come back with me to sign documents.

Renters MUST come back to the office to fill out credit apps and the forms which allow me to gather information.

Obviously some care and concern went into their upbringing.  I WOULD categorically state that the parents must therefore be liberals, but we have at least one young person at CC (Rev) who has a liberal Mom.

Nice to know parenting isn't a totally lost art yet. :cheersmate:
