As she's done so often in the past, DUmmy Pam Dawson starts a thread with no purpose but to get other DUmmies to tell her what a great DUmmy she is. I'm sure she's not shocked that no one takes the bait. Since her victory in the 2009 DUmmy of the Year competition, the other DUmmies have despised her for winning that distinction. If they were chickens, her eyes would be pecked out by now.

Beyond Scared Straight is on right now. WOW a wake up call for so many
I wish this intervention was something we could do for all of our at risk students. I don't think we would have so many children go down the wrong road if they really know how it was.
I see so many kids think the life full of gangs and crimes is so special, they can't wait to attain status. It really breaks my heart.

1. In my state, part of the reality is that juvenile booking
detention center is like a frigging hospital. Pretty nice. And they call the kids "clients" they don't even refer to them as "defendant" or "suspect" or "inmate". Kids think "no big deal", but the Big Boy Jail is waaaaay worse.

And I was on the honor roll. It was mandatory.

I've seen this show. I guarantee you that the kids on the show will end up being arrested at least once in their adult life. The show will not "change" them. It's the parents fault (and lack of a father).

I went to the original Scared Straight when it was still an experimental roadshow program when I was in elementary school in New Jersey. I did it again in Florida when they tried it out.
Both times we were one of the first schools to be run through it on campus. The first time made a real impression. The second time was like yeah yeah ****ed in the ass, yeah yeah suck a dick, yawn shiv in the showers. Been here, heard it already. You convinced me the first time.
It did shake alot of my fellow students who'd never been through it before. I would have to say over all it did make a positive impression. I know it's kept me out of jail for damn sure. O-)

This DUmmy can't see the forest for the trees. I deal with gangs and their families a lot and I'm here to tell you, they don't pull that red handle on election day.

Joannenumbers is one, and poor, stupid Beth is another. I'm sure there are many, many others. Several million criminals are incarcerated in America, and they're nearly 100% democrat, so it stands to reason a few more of them would have close ties to the DUmp.

She is SO right. It is not NEARLY as heartwarming and fulfilling as being a slave. :rotf:
