The story quoted is an AP one. I deleted most of the OP for that reason.

2. "removing a longstanding roadblock to..."
Letting US companies bypass American truckers and getting their shit into this country cheaper.
They bypass American ports and longshore, bring the stuff into Mexico on the cheap, and now will transport it into our country on the cheap.
**** you, Clinton for bringing us this crap and the same to a certain person for continuing it.
Say wha?

NAFTA.
Git along lil doggie...yep, gonna have lots of new democrats in the back of those trucks. betcha.

They don' be likin' them no NAFTA. For a bunch of wide-open-border, international brotherhood of all peoples type of idiots, they have a remarkably inconsistent point of view on this topic.

Say wha?
Clinton signed the original NAFTA treaty wherein the provision was enacted.
Since then there have been complaints that Mexican trucks are dirty and unsafe. Bush couldn't get any traction on the issue but Obama basically saw Bush's policy preference through to what was announced today.
But the DUmbass is referencing Clinton's signing of NAFTA.

I know all of that. My response was based solely on his statement. I agree with his statement. My head hurts now.

Why is it okay with the Big Zero that trucks driven by Mexican citizens are okay in the United States, but trucks driven by American citizens aren't okay in Mexico?
It's my understanding American and Canadian truck drivers have to hand over their trailers to Mexicans at the border, as they aren't allowed to carry freight south of the Rio Grande.
Not that any of them might want to, given the anarchy and corruption of the Mexican highways, but it appears they can't even if they wanted to.

I can only think of one sort of vehicle I'd want to drive into Mexico, and it would have to be under 'Weapons Free' engagement rules.

Yeah . . . with the support that an armored cavalry regiment could provide.
