Apparently I'll be writing an "Information Page" to be used in a congressional hearing concerning construction projects.
At the expense of soundiong as if I'm bragging I'm really venting/hand-wringing because this seems rather intimidating for a mere E5. :p
-
Well, stop that hand-wringing. I think you write extremely well, and convey information very clearly. There is no bullshit to wade through in your writing. I think this would be a refreshing change of pace for the congressional crowd. You'll do great work.

That is a little heavy for an E-5 Who did you torque off?

The O6 told a civilian engineer he was too busy so best to let me handle it.
The O6 seems to like me enough.
Never has the esteem of my superiors made me want to drink heavily.

No worries, Sarge. You'll do fine. Your post immediately reminded me of this FedEx spot-

It doesn't work that that way.
He gets to do the grunt work that some officer will take credit for.

Yup.
At least the O6 sees the real deal.
Besides, all that shit that goes on in Congress, who actually pays attention to it?

But a SERGEANT would kick ass and take names. Nut up, SERGEANT.
And yeah, you'll do fine.

My summation is a thing of beauty. It's not every day one gets to use the phrase "thrice over" and I threw some Clauswitz at them for good measure.
I asked an O4 if it was too schmultzy. He told me adding it won't make a lick of difference (I disagree. Get enough licks and you got a hot date.) in getting what we want but failing to include it would reflect poorly.
"You're telling me," I said. "They won't fund you if you don't kiss ass hard enough?"
"Exactly."
:p
