PRESIDENT Barack Obama is likely to visit Ireland in late May, to coincide with other European engagements.

“The end of May is likely,” said an official who is familiar with discussions about Mr Obama’s forthcoming trip to Europe.

Mr Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will visit Britain on a state visit at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth from May 24th to 26th. He will travel on to Deauville, France, for the G8 Summit on May 26th to 27th.

Discussions within the US administration are focused on whether Mr Obama should visit Ireland before London or after Deauville.

“The White House hope it’s before the UK,” said the official.

Planning is complicated by the fact that President Mary McAleese has invited the queen to visit Ireland, probably in May or June.

He must have heard about the Black Irish and thought he's go visit some brothers.

Well it's not like we have record deficits or anything like that.  :whatever:

All dems can do is spend money and when the GOP tries to repair the damage they have done, they throw fits like 3 year olds.

I would hate to be a governor of a state right now. If you try to do the adult thing all the kids will throw a fit and bring their friends from other states to help them throw that fit.

Americans need to grow up and start realizing the govt does not have unlimited money just laying around. Even though Obama's gang seems to think all they have to do is fire up the printer and that will fix it all.

Another campaign stop, that is all.

Riding on JFK's coat tails, just sucking up.

He has no legitimate reason to go there, to go to the third iceberg from the south of Greenland or anywhere else.

His job is here, and that's giving him way too much credit without provided credentials. His time is short.
