GOVERNOR WALKER CREATES STATE OF CHAOS FOR SCHOOLS
MADISON – The state of chaos that has been created by Governor Walker in Wisconsin took yet another turn for the worse this week, as several school boards were panicked into issuing non-renewal notices to their entire teaching staff or large portions of them.
“The move by these boards of education, prompted by the governor’s references to impending cuts to public schools, has set off this flurry of action which will have lasting negative impacts on students, educators and schools,†said Mary Bell, a teacher and president of the Wisconsin Education Association Council. “The drastic and careless actions of our governor have thrown local schools unnecessarily into turmoil.â€
The impact of this turmoil is felt by dedicated teachers and education support staff from all corners of Wisconsin.
Teachers from Hustisford, Freedom, Sauk Prairie and Belleview are among those in the state who, despite having dedicated themselves to their students for years, have discovered they will receive non-renewal notices. Emotions at Merton Primary School spanned from sadness to uncertainty as affected teachers there filed into the superintendent’s office to be told they’d no longer have jobs when school lets out this spring.
“This is an awful way to be treated when teachers and support staff give all they can, every day, to meet the needs of their students,†Bell said. “The uncertainty and anxiety that’s been created is harmful to the educators affected, their colleagues, their families and their students. Educators understand these are tough times – but we’re essentially cutting off discussions between the districts and the teachers about how to work through these budget challenges together. That’s why it’s so harmful to eliminate collective bargaining – these discussions work.â€

Oh yes, the teachers have given much. "Sick" notices. Jobs for custodians based on some of the things they have done at the Capitol. A detrimental future to their students because THEY wanted to go pound their fists in a vain effort to get what they want...more money. And in that effort, cost themselves their job, and maybe some young people jobs in their future. Oh, did I mention that before this little protest thingy for union thugs you guys have going on here in WI, there were only 2/3 of 8th graders, I think it was, who could read properly? Don't know about now days, but back when I was in school, a 66.6% was an F!
Try again, Nadinnumbers. These protesting teachers are a detriment to society as a whole right now. Not to mention that they're taking cops away from their own towns to do security at the stupid Capitol where these leftist have basically created their own society INSIDE of it! They've taken 2 from my small town already. Just in today's paper. Do you understand how much of a detriment that is to the small towns in WI? No...of course you don't. Also, cops in the Mad city are in short supply. They're all down guarding the stupid Capitol. Do you understand how much that has the potential to escalate crime in the rest of the insane asylum? No...of course you don't.
And try using that handy, dandy DUmp spell checker. I know for sure they have one.

(PROVIDENCE, RI.) -- The Providence, RI., school board voted 4 to 3 in favor of firing all of the city's public school teachers Thursday night.
Of the 1,926 teachers affected by the measure, 700 showed up at the meeting, which was held at the Providence Career & Technical Academy, to express their opposition. The terminations are intended to offset a $40 million school budget deficit that the board was given three days to solve.
It's Walker's Fault , Too !!! (http://www.670kboi.com/rssItem.asp?feedid=118&itemid=29637447)
I'm betting it was state law in WI, just like in RI.

It is not Gov. Walker who has wrought this current mess in Wisconsin. He was duly elected by the people of Wisconsin and is keeping the faith of the constituency who sent him there and making good on his campaign promises.
Gov. Walker is not hiding in an out of state motel.
The teachers of Wisconsin are not in their classrooms doing their jobs. It is they who have wrought this trouble, and their union puppet masters.
SOCIOPATH- a person afflicted with a personality disorder characterized by a tendency to commit antisocial and sometimes violent acts and a failure to feel guilt for such acts, a profound lack of conscience.

As usual when the adults are called in to clean up the mess, the children throw a fit.
Every governor who is currently trying to be responsible with taxpayer money is being fought tooth and nail by the left. I imagine even Cuomo in NY will catch a bunch of shit from his fellow lefties before too long.

They were so dedicated, they walked off the job.

I could have sworn I heard 2/3, but I could be wrong, BEG. I sometimes am. :-)

Hey NadaBrain, Walker told them this would happen if they didn't make concessions! He was trying to save their jobs! Now what happens is those with tenure will remain, while those without any protection get laid off! I believe he said the number was somewhere around 5,000 teachers. Time to pay up, ya lefty pricks!
But oh no, they wouldn't give up a few percentage points of their precious freebees in order to keep everyone working. So ya know what, you'll find sympathy between shit and syphilis in the dictionary! These greedy bastards did this to themselves!
What part of WI having a Balanced Budget by the end of their fiscal year by law, does this condescending POS not get?

And not just the Left--Fred Dicker had a column last Monday in the New York Post that the Republicans in the NYS Senate (the Republicans control that chamber), led by Majority Leader Dean Skelos, are making a deal with Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and the other Demos in the NYS Assembly, to oppose Gov. Cuomo's cuts. I never thought I'd say this, but I support Gov. Cuomo's efforts. :thatsright:

With all of you Dems pissing in your own punch bowl I'm sure the water is 'warm' - If Obama has any brains in his head, he will stay out of this mess.

They seem to think Obie can open his stash and bestow a cash gift to each state. Maybe a nice round trillion each would do it. ::)

Sorry DUches, it is Wisconsin state law that the budget must be balanced before they can issue bonds. Wisconsin needs those bonds to continue to operate and Walker has stated this often.
This 110% the fault of the fleebager donks in the Wisconsin senate. There is no budget change, Walker must go with existing conditions to balance and that means layoffs to make up the shortfall.
What this clearly and openly demonstrates for all normal Americans is that public sector union members don't give a shit about anything other than themselves. In order for the higher up in the PUEs to keep their exorbitant salary package those lower down will get nothing and like it.
Want to see bare naked greed? Look to a PUE and the democrat party that receives their extorted union dues.

You know, I always hear from liberals, either from their simplistic t-shirts or their idiotic mouths, that profit is bad. But who does anything they do not expect to profit from in some way?
Even Wisconsin teachers and the paid protesters bussed into Madison expect to profit in some way from their actions.
The difference between what Walker is doing and what the angry mob is doing is one of constructive action verses destructive action. The angry mob is seeking to live destructively, off the labor of others whereas the Governor is attempting to make Wisconsin a more business friendly place that will create jobs and allow the economy to blossom once again so that state workers can be paid.

It's funny that the left is portraying Walker as a dictator, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. He and the republicans that were elected are trying to do what they campaigned on. OTOH, the FleaBagger Dems are acting more like an Oligarchy and refusing to abide by the laws of the state and are undermining the rule of law in Wisconsin. Dictators ignore the laws when they don't like them.

Eric Cantor had a great comparison of how the Dems in the Wisconsin Senate reacted to a law they didn't want to see passed, and US House and Senate Republicans reacted during the health care ram-through. The Wisconsin Dems ran away. The US House and Senate Republicans stayed and fought.
Interesting contrast, no?

If there wasn't such greed on the part of the public sector unions this wouldn't happen. also these teachers seem to forget that a lot of people got into "Education" just to keep from getting drafted during Vietnam and how much do you want to bet getting teachers to replace those fired won't be a huge problem?
-
^Bingo.
And :rotf: @ the top headline in our Sunday paper: "Anatomy of a Protest"
Not sure I'll bother reading their "dissection" of it...
-
If I were on that school board I would be firing those teachers who walked off their jobs. Consider themselves lucky they only got a you-may-or-may-not-be-layed-off pink slip.
-
Uh, I was just wonderin' who the hell is "Wakler"? Anybody else wonder that? I thought NadaBrain was the mostest smartest DUmmie on the planet!

:shucks:
Ah...I think that would be my own mistake this time, Al. My tongue got in front of my eye tooth, and I couldn't see what I was saying. Of course, that saying doesn't work with a keyboard, but you know what I'm getting at. Could someone fix that pretty please? O-)
