New poll identifies most liberal and conservative states
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/02/25/new-poll-identifies-most-liberal-and-conservative-states/#more-148143

The state with the most conservatives in the U.S. for 2010 was Mississippi, with 50.1 percent claiming conservative political views. Gallup also reported that 50.1 percent is the largest majority ever seen in the three years they have conducted this survey. Other states, including Idaho and Alabama, came in close at a little over 48 percent each.

The most liberal state isn't even a technically state at all. The District of Columbia topped the list with 41.1 percent espousing liberal political beliefs. Vermont was a distant second, with 30.5 percent.

2. I look at this map and find it hard to generate sympathy for those who ascribe to the conservative

policies that have plauged the country since raygun, and have lost their jobs and their standard of living because of those policies

Great job.

We never really leave high school, always want to be approved of, want to be considered "part of the crowd" even if it kills us.

think the US should just be in regions.

6. Here's the link to the Gallup Site, with "interactive maps"

http://www.gallup.com/poll/146348/Mississippi-Rates-Con...

It is based on aggregate polling in 2008. 2009, and 2010. Did not have a lot of time to look at it, but it seems a little fishy to me.

Everything that does not fit into the DUmmie world view is fishy.  :mental:

In just two years after the republicans were to be out in the wilderness for decades.

What happens when decent and civilized people are pushed to the brink is they wake up.

Look at the 10 states with the lowest unemployment.

Look at the 10 states with the highest unemployment.

Noticing a pattern, DUmmies?

Leftist ignorance is utterly astounding.

They prattle on about how America is like a highschool clique, where the cool kids hang out, nobody wants to grow up etc., not making much sense.  Then, someone makes a real stupid, sophomoric post:

10. Maybe conservatism has to do with heat. Their heads start to explode because they
live where it's too warm! LOL

followed by that annoying ROFL icon they have over there.

come on up to Washington! It's become SO much more conservative over my lifetime, we need all the help we can get! We're still hanging on, but...

Not true.

I've lived in Arizona (hot as hell) and currently live in Nevada (still hot, but cooler than Arizona) and those two states are considered "average".

But, Arizona & Nevada have been infiltrated by Commiefornians.  They probably screwed up the numbers in this poll.

No kiddin'! Maybe this idiot oughta look at a map. Idaho is Red, Red, and tonight I'm expectin' about 10 below!

Uh, aren't most DUmmie enclaves on the coasts? Looks to me it's the other way around. Maybe that's why they're still so primitive. Too much salt water. All that education is useless if yer brain in mush!

From another thread, a DUmmie tries to explain this poll.

The new Gallup poll about most conservative/least conservative states tells us something we all know

This was a self-identifying poll- not one based on voting or the result of voting or anything else. We already know that the word liberal has become so associated with the negative that people shun it and that the word conservative has a more positive connotation in the minds of people throughout the country. But many of those tagging themselves as conservative, don't vote that way or hold what's widely condsidered to be conservative views.

That said, I think this is a sadly conservative nation.

1. There are the opposite ones as well...

My parents always identify as liberal. And compared to most of their friends and family they really are. Mostly since they don't hate gay people and think they should be able to marry, and they think abortion is a woman's choice and the government should stay out (despite them being devoutly catholic).

But the fact is that economically they have become more conservative over the years. They came from humble beginnings and now in their 60's they do very well for themselves. But they are constantly complaining about unions, and about illegal immigration and things of that nature. Yet they'll constantly say "Oh, we're liberal."

I'd hardly say they were were conservative or right wing, but they are definitely not liberal, despite how they would identify themselves.

Not sure Detroit is liberal. What most of the population are welfare recipients of one kind or another. That and the ruling class sure as hell ain't liberal, they're just greedy, crooked politicians, makin' deals on the side and keepin' most of the population in perpetual  need of them for there existence!

The powers that be in Detroit and Chicago really don't give a shit about moral politics or any other thing except maybe the unions that fill their reelection coffers with union dues. Rush has a good analogy of the relation between Unions and the DemonRats. It's called money laundering! Union officials collect the dues from their members, then turn it over to DemoncRats in order to get the sweet deals from government.

They know if they don't feed 'em freebees, their constituents will revolt and burn the city down. The FatCats retire to their mansions every day outside the city and plan how they can keep their power. Make a slick deal here, take a bribe there, that's their idea of politics.

If they gave one iota about their people they wouldn't house them in ghetto traps. Once you're in there, it's damn tuff to get out. So what happens? They vote for who ever promises them their food stamps, rent money, and free meds!

I really don't want to go back.
