Shh I got a secret, this is how you get to rank and file
conservatives...
No, telling them to good things about government, you kid me right?
Going over what the unions have done for them won't work either.
What you need to do is point out how this affects THEM, maybe their significant others, but THEM.
One person was going on and on and on as to how they WILL shut the government down and HOW GLAD he is about that. See he came out of a car with a nice DOD sticker and looks old enough to be both retired AND retired, and he was going on over this.
SO I just looked up from my IPAD and my coffee... and asked him if he had long term savings.
He turns and tells me what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?
Well, you see, you look old enough to be on Social Security... he nodded... and them DOD Stickers tell me you were there for the first run. He again nodded.
Guess what checks will stop immediately...
THEY CAN'T DO THAT... DAMN ****ING DEMOCRATS?

Republicans and Speaker Boehner is going there, so once again... I do hope for your sake, that you got some savings... or it will be mac and cheese every night and noodles for a while for you. I hope you like a poor student diet... really I do.

At that point he decided to walk away... but you see I made it very personal... and that is the only way to get to them.

No conservative I know would say that. Frankly, I'd tell her to piss off and mind her own ****ing business. But if I did decide to engage the DUmmie (just to embarrass the shit out of her in public for sticking her nose where it didn't belong) I'd remind her it's her useless "progressives" that kicked the can down the road and refused to deal with the budget like they were supposed to so now the adults have to clean up their mess (again). As to SS, I have no choice in paying into the system. I'd rather have that money to save and invest myself, I'd end up with a helluva lot more money even with economic downturns. But since I was forced to pay into something I didn't want in the first place, I'm damn well gonna get some of my money back. Especially since that "lock box" has become a sieve pouring into worthless progressive causes.

Social security checks will still go out. Most are direct deposited, most don't have to be mailed.
The checks went out the last time the government was shut down and they will if it happens again.
