Title: Wisconsin teachers, it could be like this..........

My wife works for Little Elm Independent School District.  Little Elm is about 20 miles north of Dallas and has a population of about 24,000.  She just got word today that they must lay off 38 classroom teachers.  38 classroom teachers in a town of 24,000 is devastating.  Are they doing this in lieu of giving up any benefits?

The district offers health insurance for the employee.....of which the district pays $0.00.  A portion of her monthly check goes into the Teacher Retirement System.  The district matches her contributions with $0.00.  She's been teaching for 19 years now and makes $54,166. 
 
I hope they fire every single one of you skipping work to try and preserve your fat wallets.  Meanwhile, my wife, who has NONE of your benefits, now has to wonder if she'll make retirement.  Good job.
