Okay, I don't claim to be a Bible scholar, but I'm pretty sure Jesus never advocated the government taking care of people through forced taxation. Everything He called for was from individuals acting on their own conscience and faith. You know, the whole "free will" thing.

He would cut the wars.
Then he would tax the wealthy.
Then he would feed and shelter the poor.
Then he would enlighten the country spiritually.
Then we would kill him and hang him on a cross...
He didn't cut the wars or tax the wealthy when he walked the Earth, though He certainly could have called on Divine power to do so had that been His purpose.
DUmmies don't see Jesus as being divine, though. They see him as more like the ultimate Democrat legislator.
BTW, while we're on the subject - who would Jesus abort?

Jesus wasn't a political leader.
The first thing Jesus would cut would be the world because we don't need it.
After that, we would all be home anyway so everything you think is a problem wouldn't be anymore.

Jesus said that God loves cheerful giver. He never advocated that helping the poor was a job of the Tax gatherers. Jesus never called upon Rome to start a preschool Head Start program. It was the faithful that helped the poor, not Rome, not Herod.
The DUmmies make a fatal mistake when they substitute the church for the government. When a DUmmie stands before God, he cannot claim his taxes as charitable giving. They freely admit to hating everything Jesus stands for, yet use His name in vain to manipulate others. Woe to them on the day they discover the reality of Christ.

Hey, Jesus said to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, but at the time that only paid for roads, public services, law & order, and national security, not any entitlement programs beyond military pensions for long-service legionariae. He probably wouldn't have understood why anyone has a problem cutting the social programs if they're unsustainable.

I read on another thread, that in the 60's and 70's single parent Black households were around 28%. After 2 decades of DemoncRat feel good policies, the number is now 64%!
Don't know about you DUmmies, but those numbers disgust me! How can you say your policies help the poor?
