My thoughts on tomorrow's rally in Madison
I was there Wednesday (estimated 30,000 folks) and today (at least 50,000, there appeared to be DOUBLE, no exaggeration, the folks today).
Please be there if you can, and if you can, do as the Reverand Jackson said: "this is your Ghandi moment, this is you Martin Luther King moment." So keep it peaceful and do NOT ENGAGE with the teahadists. Haha...right. There's already been calls for violence by you lefties on the blogosphere. Willing to bet there are at least a couple arrests on YOUR SIDE.
That said, just to let you know from the front lines, we have been joined by a massive union influx of all types. This is not just sweet little teachers (like me!)Um...sweet?!? but tough prison guards, and police and firefighters, the latter of which often come in full turn out gear.
We have had ironworkers in hard hats, teamsters, burly plumbers and electricians, carpenters, painters, snow plow drivers, school bus drivers, and pipefitters. We have a lot of strong people, and I believe many will be back tomorrow.
The inside of the capitol is PACKED, and I mean PACKED. It is now called the ThunderdomeYou do know that The Thunderdome was "Two men enter, ONE man leaves, right, DUmbass? Oh, and just FYI...it was ANYTHING but peaceful., and that is no lie. It is occupied, and I do mean occupied, by about 6-10,000 students and others, and they will not leave and will NOT BACK DOWN. There are strategy rooms filled with young folks, all with laptops and newsfeeds, working round the clock to keep this going. People are bringing food, water and coffee. My colleague said to him the place looked like folks were in there for the long haul. The steps are full of families with kids, the halls are full of people in wheel chairs, with walkers, crutches. There are drums and musicians, including the war-like sound of bag pipes.
Join the fight. It is not over. We will not surrender, no matter how many paid astro turf goons are brought in tomorrow from 12-3PM.

On Teabagger Eve, I must post this again- Seek Out the High Ground, for it is What Redeems Us
I'm reposting from an earlier thread, but I really want people to know and remember this:
In this battle- this war that we basically have to admit as such- we must seek out and lay claim to the high ground. Whether it be, ideologically, through Ghandi, MLK Jr., Bobby Kennedy, Cesar Chavez, or even Jesus himself, we must claim the high ground and defend it, for it is our own.
It is on the high ground that those before us won their battles, and it is only on the high ground that we can expect to win ours. On any ground other than that high ground, we should expect to lose, and lose, and lose. Even after a loss for us on this ground, it must be readily surrendered by the villainous and returned to those who inherit the Earth and believe- the meek- because the villainous cannot maintain it. It can only be kept and fought for by those who actually believe. It can never be corrupted or turned for unjust purpose. It is its own and belongs to those who know right. Come to know that ground, dig your foxhole, love it, and know that it can never, EVER be taken by anyone unworthy, no matter their cleverness.

Those words can be construed as threatening, as if they mean to hurt people who show up to oppose them.
It of course just goes to show which side uses violent language.

Unnecessarily wordy. I think the DUmbass could have conveyed the thought more efficiently by saying: "We have thugs."

Why do any of our allies need to show up? They're hurtin' themselves more than we ever could by gettin' involved.
They just don't understand the people payin' for their greed are sittin' at home watchin' them on the "tube", play around like 5 year olds! In the end, they're not gonna change a damn thing! Walker is still gonna get this passed!
It's an exercise in futility! The one good thing that will come out of this is, other Governors may feel better about doin' it in their own states!

Frank,depending on when the Governor has had enough and when he can do this ,the only opposition those retards are going to face is the National Guard. They might want to start thinking about losing ground when that happens as they will be armed with batons and face sheilds and the DUmmies friends in WI won't be.
