Was it the size or the duration?
We all recall the poorly-reported-upon antiwar protests, worldwide, when Captain ****nuts wanted to get his war(s) on.
Multiple cities were involved.
No impact.
So what was the thing in Egypt? They had fewer people. They had multiple cities, but fewer - and all in the same country.
Had to be the duration.
But what scared Hosni?
Why was that demonstration, fueled by the internet, more effective?
We don't care about your nights at the bath house stinky.
Look who is up first, rhythm is a dancer.

that was the turning point, when the guys with the guns go... you are on your own boy.
After that we had a lot of jockeying and the last 24 hours we had a lot of threads and perhaps even violence that staid intra mural.
Then poor stupid Beth on second.

12. Egypt is smaller than the US.
It takes fewer people to raise the question of ungovernability.
I am having too much fun at the DUmp today. :-)

The sparkling husband primitive's just being stupid.
As usual.
There's many factors involved here, but one of the main ones--of about a dozen main ones--is that the median age in the United States is 40 years, while the median age in Egypt is 20 years.
Another main factor is that George Bush was no Hosni Mubarak.
A third main factor is that there is a greater disparity of wealth in Egypt than in the United States (i.e., not much of a middle class, which is important for stability).
Eat it, sparkling husband primitive.

I have a set of golf clubs, several dozen balls, golf shoes, and a golf glove. Why can't I win the Masters in April? Is it my short drives, or my four-putt greens?

If that's the case NadaBrain, then how do ya feel about the military takin' control? You do know they are funded by the US gubmint, right? If they go against us, there goes their funding.
Hmmmmmmmm, wonder which way they'll lean? Ya think maybe we incorporated a switch where we make their tanks and F-16's nonoperational or at least where they can't go against us?
If not, we were pretty damn stupid! The one thing I don't see bein' discussed is they have some of our best tech in their military! Anyone think it's a good idea to turn this stuff over to Muzzies with the intent of wipin' Israel off the face of the planet?
That bein' said, the military is now in control. Does anyone doubt they don't understand who butters their bread? If the Muslim Brotherhood takes control, and I have no doubt they will, what happens then? I sure hope we have software that will prevent them from using our weapons against our Allies!
I realize the majority of Egyptians may not like this, but they no way have the organization the Brotherhood does. I just don't see them playin' catch up this late in the game.
Besides, the latest polls I have seen looks like 84% of the people support Sharia!
Game over, period! If that many support 7th century Sharia, it really doesn't matter who's in control. It will end up in the same place Iran did when the Shah got his ass kicked out of the country! An Ayatollah will step in and make the government Islamic.
So much for democracy! If that happens, Israel is in real trouble/ Especially since our current Coward in Charge will let them disappear before he can find out what color shorts he's gonna wear tomorrow!
This ain't good folks, it ain't good at all!

OMG, they are totally jealous of Eygpt.

They're thinking they could do it so much better. All those days of TV, and you hardly saw anyone toting a big-screen TV carton.

This is so not what I thought this thread was going to be about. :lmao:
I will go put my mind back in the gutter now.

It was neither the size nor the duration, it is simply that you guys are never in touch with reality. You are delusional. Your protests were akin to a tweenager holding her breath when daddy wont buy her a pony. The protest doesn't go unnoticed, but their is no way daddy can afford a pony for you and daddy knows you can't seriously hurt yourself by holding your breath so he just lets you protest until you pass out, kill off a few brain cells, and forget what you were so upset about.

Guilty too.
I kept reading... but then I was like, yeah, there aren't really any "that's what she said" moments here.
