While I don't agree with his statement in general terms, it probably has to do with the fact that it's hard to have an entitlement mentality when you're here illegally. Millions of Americans feel entitled.

The brothers tried to take a break after 1865 but failed. The brothers have been on a paid break since 1965 though.
What the idiot doesn't realize is, that it doesn't matter how hard or how dirty a job is....when the demand for that job gets great enough, the wages for that job will rise until someone is willing to do it at that price.

Very interesting view point, what he misses is the fact that poor people also owned slaves and they could be black owning black or white owning white. In my neck of the woods the poor worked hand in hand with their slaves, teaching them trades, to read or write, math and science of farming. Few poor Yankees could have survived had it not been for the help and outside experience and knowledge they got from their bought help.
Then these poor people went to war to release these slaves from their servitude, to the loss of hundred of thousands of lives. Not the lives of their slaves but their own.
No where does he mention the American Indian tradition of taking slaves from the other Indian tribes they conquered. Stories abound about the western tribes kidnapping children and 3-4 of the captive males rose to become the most feared warriors against the settlers.
Then there were the young girls taken captive who's family's RESCUED then that could not get along with the new laws they faced, they were use to having a voice in their Indian comunity, being able to have freedom that was not allowed to woman in civilization at that time.
Family's and comunities were Stunned when these woman ran for their lives back to the life of the SAVAGE where they were truly free, and had the respect of that Community's could vote, choose their own husband and were head of their house . Even if thought of as a slave.
Unfortunately he has little knowledge that Slavery was very different from different places in the States or soon to be States.
I have read some horrible diary's of what life was like on George Washingtons plantation, Yes on his death HIS slaves were freed but his wife Martha keep hers and at her death her slaves were willed to her family.
This Dude sees only one side to a problem of slavery when there are 20 sides to the question.
What is the difference between past slavery and what is going on today.?? We work for the a wage to feed us, give us medical insurance, housing, and transportation. Some of us live in fear of loosing our jobs and loosing all that.----I cannot imagine what the freed slaves felt when freed like 5 year old cast out onto the streets. This is another problem.
I am open to discussion on this subject, but be fore warned most of American history I learned was not in the class room but by accident when I first picked up my first Louis L'more paper back and then onto history of slavery in my area written by their decedents.

Actually I do love the old south, not the city's but the good old boys that have an 8 grade edumaction, and can fix anything that breaks down on you, from tractor to plumbing. Fun people, REAL American folk that even if you are a Yankee will give you the shirt off their back. Hard working folk with a still up the hill and everyone in the family plays a banjo, guitar or wash tub.
If I had to move from here I would head to the warm Mountains of NC. and live a life unknown to most of the rest of the world. Spend Friday nights watching the local High School kids play football, Sat. nights at a pot luck dinner at the VFW and Sunday mornings in a small church.
The AM RADIO PROGRANS that start of with the price of local feed and grain prices and go on to call in shows to give advice to people with live stock.
I live at home and see the changes that make this land foreign to me. The only place in the USA I ever felt at home, not for family ties but because of myself was out west or in the mountains . People there still live as I remember my childhood and what can one say, ---you can take the person out of the boonies but not take the boonies out of the person.

We went out one night to a military club and all the black and quite a few white sailors hit on her.----Until she opened her mouth and that British accent came out.
Eye opening for me, the black sailors thought she was making fun of them and the white sailors were spooked out.

This racist bigot fool Ford might have every episode of "All in the family" and "The Jeffersons" on beta at arm's length from his Lay-Z-Boy right under his 8x10 color glossies of Carrol O'Connor and Sherman Hemsley but he doesn't have a clue about life in this economy.
The fact is in today's America with Glorious Comrade Leader scuttling capitalism and companies waiting him out, i.e. not hiring now, there are no jobs that Americans won't do. That was always crap anyway, the idea that Americans aren't put at a disadvantage in the workplace by the presence of MILLIONS of illegal Mexicans. That these shadow people only take marginal jobs at low wages so it really doesn't matter that they're here and it's actually a good thing for America.
Horseshit. They have taken plenty of jobs Americans want, most notably in construction that always paid well but the impact is not at all limited to blue collar positions. Plenty of clerical jobs are occupied by those who have invaded and are occupying this country as well.
Just a quick recap- IN THIS ECONOMY THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A JOB AN AMERICAN IN AMERICA WON'T DO.
