The argument I hear the most from Cons, RW'ers, ...
...radio talkshow junkies, and FAUX watchers against a universal or "single-payer" government health insurance system:
"Why should I pay for your health care?"
And usually this question is peppered with a few "lazy" and "deadbeat" descriptions thrown in.
This is maddening but a very popular sentiment.
First off...they apparently do not understand how insurance, in general, works or they would not be saying stupid shit like that.
They act like the insurance premiums they pay just pay for themselves when they need treatments.
The "shared risk" and "pooled money" that insurance is about escapes them.
By paying an insurance premium they ALREADY ARE paying for others and the rising rates for those without insurance altogether.
I am so sick of stupidity.
If you are so sick of stupidity get off the DUmp ASAP.

So then, the answer for the failure of government-coerced collectivism via the HMO Act, etc. to provide appropriate care from an individual's perception and mortality is the further expansion into government-forced collectivism?
Am I reading the nonsense from this DUmmy right?

The argument I hear more of is the quality of anticipated healthcare under government control. The myriad labyrinth of bureaucracy, the nameless, faceless, unaccountable pencil pushers who don't give a shit about you or your loved ones. The doctors retiring in droves. The horror stories coming out of socialized medicine countries. The experiment has its results, and it's there for all to see. Kind of like Communism.

"We'll have to schedule a PET scan to check for cancer....What's your schedule like in 36-48 months?"
That's what we're going to see.

The point is this, you damnable socialist DUmmie asswipe: we don't mind private enterprise passing on costs as a consequence of the free market, which, 1) always works better and costs less in the end than any business government at any level tries to run, and 2) is part of the civil society of a free people and is not a top-down compulsion unconstitutionally enforced upon us by our servant, government, which is the system of subjects, not citizens.
You can have your slave mentality if you want it, but don't try pushing it on me. I'll fight you 'till the bittermost end. You and all your lot would have fit right in as the bootlicking slaves to some ancient Persian king, who owned nothing that he did not permit his "people" to own.

How 'bout this, DUmbass? You want health insurance, how 'bout ponyin' up your share? See that's the problem. You want us to buy your share that you should be payin' for yourself, so you are absolved of any responsibility, and can set around on your fat ass while the rest of us work for what we have!!

How about this:
You're too corrupt and inept to govern my life. If I want to preserve my freedom I have to retain the ability to tell you to ****-off. That's why I can choose which church to attend (or not), which party to vote for, which policies to enact, which businesses to give my money to, etc etc etc.
All you want is to get everyone shunted in. Herd them to whatever providers pay the highest campaign contributions then 51% of the population from payment so as to seal your power for generations to come.
You attack freedom because freedom carries the ability to reject your arrogant, greedy ass.

I never use that argument DUchebag.
1. Would you want the DMV running your health care? Answer 100% of the time NO!!!
2. Why do people in countries with socialized medicine come to the USA for their treatment? Answer usually it's the best.
3. How does increased medical taxes, increased demands, and bigger government bureaucracies save any cost? Answer usually, I don't know how it will.
4. Why does it cost $770 BILLION DOLLARS to insure 30 million people? Answer usually is I am a liar. I provide facts and get this is bad.
5. Finally, what happened after the passage of Obama HellCare to your premiums? Answer 100% THEY SKYROCKETED insurance companies are evil. What was the reason? Most don't know but I ask them to check what the insurance company's reason was. When I see them,I ask again. Answer 100% of the time, Obama HellCare provisions.

BTW, DUmmies, for those of you who wish to use the Canadian system as a shining example:
They pay exorbitant taxes--for what? Ever gone to a clinic or hospital on the northern border of states like New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, for example?
Or would you like some other examples, as the one from not long ago that a woman from CALGARY (population 1.1 million) had to be airlifted to a hospital in Great Falls, MT, (population 58,000) to give birth to her quadruplets because (drum roll please)....
CANADIAN HOSPITALS DIDN'T HAVE THE NEONATAL BEDSPACE!!! So let's fly this woman at a cost of about $6K a pop to a hospital in a town less than 5 percent the size of Calgary because THEY couldn't handle it!
Shall I go on, DUmmies?

From what I've heard, Canadian Healthcare tends to do a decent job when it comes to basic emergency care (broken bones, burns etc) or routine and preventative care. A pregnancy and birth with no complications would probably receive decent care. The problems arise when a specialist is required, surgery is required, or any other exceptional circumstance.

Yeah, like an MRI, or a Mylogram, or a CT scan! They're backed up for months! Even such simple shit as an ultra sound is at least a week out!

You know, why are we even letting this little pissant label our position an "argument," as if there's anything to argue about here? There's no argument here. They--the hard left--have no case, no point to make, no sensible policy position to contend. The Left--personified by the DUmmie above--might as well be saying "tyranny is good" or "genocide is good" or "cancer is good" and then objecting when we say "no, those are bad things."
-
Well, the first thing I would reply is buying insurance is VOLUNTARY which means I'm not forced to pay for someone else's care. I'm also not stuck in a one-size-fits-all policy foisted on me whether I want it or not. The way insurance works has absolutely nothing to do with it.

How about this argument?

I saw that before I left work. Another nail in the coffin of Obamacare. (Actually, more like several railroad spikes.)

Only to those that actually care about our economy. Not sure most Obama supporters have a clue.

Let me know when we get to the wooden stake! This "Draculian" law must be extinguished just like a Vampire before sun up! It sucks the life outa jobs, the economy, doctors and patient rights!
Yet the one one man who is bound by his oath to protect the American people refuses to even consider the ****in' thing is unConstitutional! What good is the oath if you refuse to abide by it?
He's disregarding a federal judge by ignoring his ruling, for cripes sake! Wonder what would have happened if "W" would have done the same Damn thing?
They consider Clintoon their hero, and he was the first Pres to break the law to the degree of criminality since Nixon! They sure as hell wouldn't have let Nixon walk like they have these two asshats!
What I don't understand is, the American People let them get away with it!

As far as I know, Charlie Rangel was the single payer and he didn't want to pay.
