I'm seriously considering divorcing my wife over Taxes
Another year another HUGE Tax Bill she hands me
My wife is an immigrant and she has always had trouble with Taxes. I remember her first pay check when she saw the deductions. Boy did she hit the roof - "How can they take your money" - Honey it's America EVERYONE pays taxes
Will it hasn't gotten any better. I earn a descent living, we own a home, have food to eat, Health Insurance - the whole Enchilada. Before I met my wife I had survived a 7 year audit, hired a CPA, and an EA, paid my bill and the lawyer fees and cleared up my Tax problems. Ever since then I've ALWAYS left some deductions on the table so to speak. I want a Tax Return not a Tax Bill at the end of the year.
Will now every year she hands me her TAX BILL
Right now sitting on the table I have a $2600 Tax bill which must be paid in 10 days. She thought she was working under the table, but when she pissed off her employer, got fired, and filed for unemployment, he 1099ed her and never sent her a copy. OK I understand what happened and can forgive that
Now here it is another year. At the beginning of the year I told her to change her deductions. "Sweety - you are NOT Tax Exempt - you need to pay Taxes" Well you guessed it, after doing our taxes last night she has handed me yet another $6000 Tax Bill.
Nobody gets a 1% Tax Rate - why in the **** would the employer and her try to play stupid.
I'm scared - jobs are getting harder to find - I'm currently unemployed so the money for the $2600 is coming right out of my savings. The $6000 Tax Bill comes out of the Deductions I purposely didn't claim last year. So instead of getting a new roof on the house (which I am surprised is not leaking now) it goes towards the Taxes she did not pay.
At what point do I say enough is enough - when I finally don't have the savings and we loose the house and I become Homeless

2. stop filing jointly. problem solved. n/t
I don't think so. One: He'll end up paying anyway. Two: If they have ever filed jointly, and she refuses to pay, they'll come after him for the money (It happened to me). As a result, He'll end up paying anyway.
New campfire. May or may not grow. Just wanted to show the TRUE mindset of illegals in this country. Parasites.
-
The easy solution to this would be for him to look at her paystubs once and awhile to see how much is being taken in taxes. If it seems low, he should place some extra money in a savings account just in case they owe at tax time. $500 to saving per month and that $6,000 bill would be paid for.
-
This is from a different thread, but had to include it in this one.
The OP is from FreakinDJ. Here is his post in another thread dealing with illegals.
New bill would make hiring illegals a state felony

10. At least the law will change the debate over illegals aliens / undocumented workers
I for 1 certainly don't like the political correct terminology "Undocumented Worker". It undermines the fact they are here illegally - displacing American workers and REDUCING the living standards of all Americans.
If Government is not willing or able to ensure and increase the Living Standards of it's Citizens then it needs to be dismembered and cast out
What a ****ing hypocrite.
Clarify it for me, will you. It's OK for your wife to stay and work under the table, but every other illegal is taking an American job. Am I right so far!

12. If she was working under the table, how did she file for unemployment?
After the fact are you saying he made her a contractor (1099) instead of a regular employee? If he didn't send her a copy you can file a complaint with the IRS.
If she's getting a 1099 is she even filling out a W4 for deductions?
Do you have separate bank accounts? Why not just set aside money each pay period for the tax bill, if she refuses to have deductions?
Good question.

And why would anyone working under the table think they have a right to unemployment benefits? When she told you she was filing for unemployment from her under-the-table job, didn't that seem odd to you?

Hey DUmmies, I know you don't believe this but it is YOUR money. The only time you consider it YOUR money is when it is coming out of YOUR pocket. When it is coming out of others pockets it is the GOVERNMENTS money.
What a bunch of losers.

By the way, if you consider the money she makes hers and the money you make yours, keep track of what you pay vs what she payed you aren't married, you are no more than roommates with benefits.

Under the table and then turning around and claiming unemployment? This really should have the DUmmies up in arms, providing him no quarter. They're always screaming about PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE!!!! I AM PROUD AND HAPPY TO PAY TAXES!!!! All that under the table money means no $$ flowing into their precious and sacred Social Security, Unemployment, Medicare, & Medicaid.
These guys happily gin the system, and sit around thinking up ways to do it some more.

The wife is a Filipina. The Philippines have Federal income tax, so it's not a new concept for her.
I suspect the DUmmie's wife was used to making money in a "cash only" industry back home at Po City. I think she is lying to the DUmmie about sending money home to put her family through school, about losing the 1099 from her employer, and about her desire to "love him long time."
And somebody should tell the DUmmie that in the US we don't call them "employers", we call them "pimps".

Aw gee. Now you went and spoiled it.
The point is to illustrate that the DUmmy elites have a sense of entitlement where what they have is theirs and that they don't mind spending other peoples money.

That's what I was goin' to ask? As far as I know, ya can't work under the table for NASA! My tax bill is way under 6 grand and between me and "Toots" last year made around 60 thou.
They would have to make over 100 grand. He says he's unemployed, if what he says is true about the house and all, she must be turnin' tricks 24/7 or workin' for ACORN or Fannie Mae!
I think this one is bouncin' off the walls!

11. We talk about finances all the time
I even filled out her revised W-4 for at the beginning of the year.
No I don't demand she hand over her pay stubs - I try to trust her and have "Faith in Her"
It's got to be pretty obvious when you have Tax Bills year after year that 1% is not the correct Tax Rate
It's his own fault that they didn't take enough taxes out.
-
This guy claims to "make good money" yet he's currently "unemployed". They both seem to be scamming the system. How in the hell do you have a $6000 tax bill?
As a contractor being paid by 1099, YOU are responsible for quarterly filings of SS/Medicare taxes, as well as annual federal taxes. $6000 bill could easily be run up by making as little as $25K a year.
Oh, and then there's this from the OP:
I earn a descent living,
<snip>
I'm scared - jobs are getting harder to find - I'm currently unemployed
Yeah. Sure ya do.
-
I earn a descent living,
So, his income is steadily going down?
-

Well, given that his current income is ZERO while he's unemployed, I'd say he's pretty well augered in.
BTW--how YOU doin? :naughty:
-
How can you make heads or tails out of this mess? DUmbasses constantly confuse "return" with "refund", and "deduction" with "exemption". Since they use those very different terms interchangeably, it isn't worth the trouble to interpret what their whines mean. Then if you do figure it out, it's all lies. They're just too stupid to live.
(Example: He helped her complete a W-4, but she's being paid as a private contractor on a 1099 without withholding. Not an expert on contractors, but why does she need a W-4? She's getting tax help from a DUmmy who doesn't know the difference between a deduction and an exemption.)
-
None of this makes sense, too many inconsistencies
he makes a good living then he says he's unemployed
he pays all the bills and she sends money home
she works under the table and collects unemployment
he condones this behavior yet in another thread condemns illegals for stealing American jobs
they're basically stealing money from other Americans who can use the benefits
What's wrong with this picture?
-
Nobody gets a 1% Tax Rate - why in the **** would the employer and her try to play stupid.
No doubt because she claimed 14 or 15 dependents on her W4, you rotten tax-cheating son of a bitch, who doesn't even understand the difference between 'Return' and 'Refund.' You deserve every bit of tax misery you get and 10 time more, you damned thief.

84. Your missing the point - what happens when I don't have the money
I certainly don't do this well every year. I work project to project and at 53 yrs old its getting harder to find the next project.
So we go along to next year - and then what. Eventually this "Shell Game" on taxes is going to catch up with us and you know the IRS - they are going to get their money even if that means putting us out on the street.
Even without the Tax issue. The money was being saved for a "New Roof". As it is now every time we get a good wind a few more singles blow off the roof. Even if we tried to live in here with buckets all over the place every time it rains - at some point the county steps in and "Declares the Structure Uninhabitable". At which point the sheriff steps in and escorts you out of the home.
So what is wrong with being financially responsible anyway
I don't live on Credit Cards even thou i have them. I SAVE rather then borrow, and I PLAN for my future - is some thing WRONG with that

It starts with you having done well. Have way more than I do. Then your spouse is working 'under the table'? You have the whole enchilada, yet your spouse does that? Then she takes unemployment on that? Is that not fraud? How can you be 'under the table' then take legit benefits? Why would honest people be doing 'under the table' stuff?
I just do not follow your story. Also, what country does your wife come from where there are no taxes? Where is it that she could own a nice house, have the whole enchilada, no less, and not pay taxes? To me, that sounds like a lame excuse on the half shell.
If we were allowed to file jointly, we'd own a home, we'd have savings. Can not tell you how this post makes me feel. You have all the rights in the world, all the comforts and your own home, and still, this shit.

The easy solution to this would be for him to look at her paystubs once and awhile to see how much is being taken in taxes. If it seems low, he should place some extra money in a savings account just in case they owe at tax time. $500 to saving per month and that $6,000 bill would be paid for.
This seems like a complete no brainer, and what halfwit thinks she can collect unemployment when she is being paid under-the-table?

I see a lot of that shit up here and in Maine. And they seem to get away with it pretty ****ing easily.

Your neighborhood sounds like mine. Lots of diversity, lots of people that don't speak English, and lots of crime.
Yes, that's about right. And every corner has a payday loan or tote-the-note place. :whatever:

You got that right. First job out of college, I was sent to Maine. Lost my naivete. Guys would sit around on bar stools and talk openly about cheating the system, both in govt freebies, and the workers compensation system. The WC system was the favorite one to cheat, as the perception was that you were sticking it to some company/The Man, whereas the govt cheating was recognized (somewhat) as stealing from your fellow man. Didn't stop too many of them, though.
I'd always been under the impression that Maine was chockfull of hearty independent souls, with Yankee pride in self-sustenence. I wuz wrong.

Yup--see it on a daily basis. Probably died when they hit over 40 percent of their residents on some form of public assistance. But it REALLY went to shit when NAFTA kicked in and destroyed the lumber industry in the North Country in NH and ME.
I actually had one tell me they wouldn't get out of bed for less than $18/hour, they'd rather stay on UEI. And given the number of jobs up here that pay that kind of money, they're still drawing it. Just don't ask them who they voted for in 2008. They get real pissy when you point out how the economy has turned to shit under the very guy they voted for.

When you're such a loser that you have to resort to "mail order brides" for a wetback wife....you're a loser extraordinaire.
Will (he couldn't seem to spell Well correctly, could he-maybe he's got a mail order groom wetback), the next step down the ladder for this :loser:is to move in with booboo in her spacious Buick. :-)
