Roger Ailes Buys his Hometown Newspaper - Guess What Happens Next.
Edited on Sun Feb-06-11 11:18 AM by wtmusic
He makes his wife the publisher and turns a beloved, non-partisan 140-year-old local events rag into Fox News Rural Rightwing Propaganda Edition:
"Abstract
...One day in July, 2008, the paper carried the news that the paper had been sold. The new proprietor was Roger Ailes, the chairman of Fox News. His wife, Elizabeth, was to become the publisher. In Stewart’s circle, the news was not well received. Describes how Ailes and his wife came to live in Cold Spring. Elizabeth shares her husband’s political views, and, like him, she wanted the paper to have a role in events. Mentions Joe Lindsley, the paper’s executive editor. In spring of 2009, readers found something they’d never before seen in the P.C.N. & R.: an editorial. It criticized the Obama Administration’s bailouts and spending programs, and it also confirmed the worst fears of those who’d most regretted the ownership change."

1. This is an excellent read. Note Ailes having to go around with Security Protection
he is so disliked for what he did. Invading the Hudson Valley and taking over the Newspaper because it was critical of Ailes and his Wife barging into a community which was not FAUX NEWS.
he needs security to keep the loons on the left from harming him.

The damn yankee liberals sure as hell don't mind barging into my sleepy, small town and loudly demanding change.

non-partisan = left wing rag .

Wonder what the circulation was before, and after? They seem to not be talking about that, for some strange reason...

The libs were bitchin' about Ailes takeover, why didn't they pool their money and buy it before him then? Sounds to me like the knew ahead of time. Typical. Libs never want to spend their money in order to get what they want.
There's another thread where all the hippies showed up to demand a radio station continue losing money on progressive talk radio! Said it was the radio stations duty to supply a different point of view. Why don't they give the radio station the money they will lose keepin' the unpopular bull shit on the air?

Exactly. "Non-partisan" and "independent" ALWAYS mean leftist, except in the case of the few brain-dead individuals who truly have no party preference. It's why, after the nationwide November massacre of liberals, the democrat party is suddenly and fervently in favor of "non-partisan" congressional redistricting.

Because you would need more sponsors other than Frito-Lay, Dominoes and Reynolds wrap.
