Anderson Cooper Leaves Egypt
Anderson Cooper announced on Saturday that he is leaving Egypt after a week in which he and his crew were repeatedly targeted by supporters of President Hosni Mubarak.
He tweeted, "It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave #Egypt. CNN continues to have many teams in place. It was a hard decision to leave."
Cooper was attacked twice by pro-Mubarak forces. On Tuesday, he was punched in the head repeatedly. On Wednesday, the window of the car he was in was smashed through by a rock. He was forced to go into hiding and report from a secret location.
Cooper is the latest high-profile American journalist to leave Cairo this week. Katie Couric and Brian Williams both returned to the U.S. earlier in the week.

5. CNN probably called him back.
They don't want their high-value talent getting whacked. Cooper is a pretty good reporter and has gone to some very dangerous places. I don't think he's just chickening out.

6. yeah, he's a real chicken shit bobble head.
not. his reporting from Haiti was terrific. Same for NO. He doesn't deserve the scorn he gets here.
Yeah, Haiti was really dangerous for reporters after the storm was gone. His biggest danger there was catching AIDS.

8. When the reporter becomes the story, responsible reporters leave.
Cooper pretty much rights his own ticket at CNN, I'm guessing two things happened. He was becoming the story and CNN didn't want to lose the one decent reporter they have.
He was one of several reporters that were attacked. The thing is, his weak-ass lame story didn't hold a candle to the ABC reporters that were kidnapped and threatened with beheading.

That's what I was thinking. Don't Muslims stone fags to death??

Which in all fairness, he may already have had, so where's the risk?

How do they know it was pro-Mubarak forces? Do they wear uniforms or something? And if it was, you have to wonder if they're upset about the media portraying what may be a fairly small percentage of their people as "all the people of Egypt?" Seriously, if the whole protest is in one square, is that because 99% of the country is happy with Mubarak?

Someone messed up Cooper's hair and now he fears for his life over there.
How you like those throwbacks now? :lmao: :rotf:

Because they told him that, and he believed it, silly. After all, only White people are smart enough to use agents-provocateur, right?

Tell ya the truth I saw the pictures, his hair was barely mussed but he sure looks like he's losing weight.
Maybe that aids thing is closer to the truth than we know.
