we were to do away with the entire military-industrial complex and replace it with a "well-regulated militia" as the founders intended, my position on all of these issues would be very different.

But since you can't deliver that, the point is moot.

EDIT: I'm not a misguided bloodthirsty psychopathic nationalist, I will never...EVER take another person's life in the defense of this corporate-dominated state.

The capacity to develop and produce things like modern tanks, combat aircraft, and naval vessels, along with all the complimentary gear is not something a nation can just call upon. Once that ability is lost, it is gone for a generation or more. That will leave the United States unprepared for conflict and guarantee more dead American soldiers.

If you want proof, look at the German Panther tank versus the American Sherman tank. The Sherman was under armored, under powered, and under had a main gun that was too small and too short. Winning because you had more equipment and materiel just means you through away the lives of men that did not have to die. I don't know why the DUmmies are oblivious to this fact that the men in charge of Batallions and Brigades in World War II were painfully aware.

The well regulated militia? No match against a profesional and profesionally trained army on a mobile battlefield. I point to the Battle of Brandywine, War of 1812, as a perfect example of this. They do fare better when against an enemy that underestimates the advantage of fixed positions, or are tasked to conduct guerilla warfare, neither of which will win a war by itself.

This is just another thread of DUmmies praying for dead Americans.

Picked up any bodies from aircraft crash sites recently?

Shuttled/guarded diplomats to try to avert a war or rebellion?

Have you, in short, done anything but be a parasite on the back of society?

He's old enough that he would have been given the full dose of JFK, the War on Poverty, desegregation, and LBJ's Great Society as a kid. Cut the guy some slack for growing up as a Dem. However, he does seriously need to get a grip and realize what his party has become.

Ain't that the truth! Indian women were downright evil when it came to takin' care of the prisoners! Didn't matter much if they were male, female, or child, either! If they were any kind of drain on their society, they was toast!
