A few days ago, as the revolution in Egypt started, Israel implied that Egyptians were not ready for democracy - that's right, democracy can only be handled by civilized people - dirty brown people can't handle it and need military dictatorship instead.
Netanyahu literally said "I’m not sure the time is right for the Arab region to go through the democratic process." He literally said this.
Now, they're telling the U.S. and other countries to lay off that poor picked-on Mubarak. Just because he's murdered and tortured thousands of his own citizens in his medieval dungeons doesn't mean he shouldn't be respected as a man of peace...

If I was The Israelis I'd go on the air and announce that they have broken off relations with the US since they can no longer trust the President and the State Department to support long time allies and they will not talk to one representative of the US till Barry Big Ears is gone and the pond scum in Congress is cleared out.

Sick mother****ers. I hope they all die horribly. A few friends and I have been talking of making aliyah after we all graduate, and I'll be damned if I'll stand by and watch as Israel is pushed into the sea and cheerleaders cheer for the most repressive group around today.

...and you can see how democracy is truly bastardized. Israel is a republican-party affront to the peoples of the world. It's republican leadership must be dissolved and a consortium of progressive Arab interests take over the region. Then we would NOT have riots in Egypt, which is really a reaction of people against the Hitlerian assault of progressive democracy to the point where only the Muslim Brotherhood will straighten things out.
Right and left wing in Israel seems to be predicated solely on designs for dealing with the Palestinians. Even some of the "right wing" parties in Israel favor social policies the left would drool for in this country.

Based on what has happened with the Palestinians, Netanyahu has excellent reason to say that. It's the U.S. Government that really isn't helping things and needs to STFU.
And the various MSM and cable news need to pull the plug on the whole thing until they have some actual news to report. Right now we're getting 24/7 coverage of whatever is shiny at the moment, which means wherever there is a fight they will be there to film it and criticize anyone but the idiot demonstrators because a fight is photogenic whether it actually matters or not. They aren't providing anyone new information, all they are doing is providing a world stage for the more dramatically-inclined rioters.

And Iraq is the exception that proves the rule. Without our hand-holding, they're not ready for democracy. Has nothing to do with their skin color and everything to do with not having any kind of history of participatory government or intellectual thought exalting the individual.

Socialist for issues like health and social services, Capitalists in manufacturing and marketing) as you could hope to find, if you were inclined to live in a Euro-style society. The only big difference stems from the fact they know a lot of their neighbors want to kill them all, and they don't have the land to absorb an attack while they muster forces to counterattack.

In the lingo of the modern democrat party, there are no Jews. They are subhuman "neocons". I will never understand why the Jewish vote is always reliably and heavily democrat, when democrat orthodoxy is so strongly anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli, and Jewish society is overwhelmingly capitalist and self sufficient. It just doesn't make sense.

If there were an equivalent of a George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Henry Knox, Samuel Adams, or John Hancock speaking eloquently in favor of the natural rights of all people and favoring a true democracy and being listened to, they would have my support. Instead I see a rabble that, while against one tyranny, can only usher in a new and worse tyranny. I see no reason to support that.
Don't mention Baradei. The man is highly questionable with questionable ties. Winning the same award as Yasir Arafat tends to dim my view of the man.

It's utterly ridiculous, but my sense (speaking as someone Jewish by birth), is the main reason is that Jews are somehow more afraid of Christians, and identify the Republican party with Christianity generally. That, plus the "we were oppressed so now we have to stick up for the 'oppressed'" lib-Jewish-guilt crap. Lunacy in the world as it is today, and Israel could have no better friend than evangelicals (and worse enemy than Moslems, generally).
There are a few hopeful signs that at least some of the Jewish vote has been peeled away permanently from the Dems. Most polls I saw in the months before Nov 2 last year had the usual, constant 70%-73% Jewish vote for Dems down to around 60%. I've never seen it go down before, so I have some real hope that at least that percentage isn't coming back to the Dems. If Israel gets even more of the heave-ho from the anti-Semite in the WH, we might see another 10% lost.
Yes, in a sane world, the Dems would, at best, be getting 10-12% of the Jewish vote--the hardcore lib Jewish vote. But sane worlds don't have the DU in them.

I never thought of that that way--just as irrational and serious head-banging material. But you're right--well, it's not precisely racist, as Chistianity isn't a race, but certainly prejudiced, by definition.
I spoke to some of my mother's friends in Florida when I was visiting her in 2008, just before President Garbage was elected (my mother is a conservative like us, so was my father). It was amazing how so many of them twisted themselves into knots to justify voting for him. I tried, I tried so hard, to tell as many of them as I could that, damnit, the man is an autocrat and a communist. I told them they'd better damn well believe Medicare would be attacked if he was elected. I told them about Rashid Khalidi, and you wouldn't believe how many of them were uninformed; they just waved off the story. They knew about "Reverend" Wright, of course, and they STILL didn't care. And some of them had such a poisonous hatred for Sarah Palin that you had to know they'd been successfully brainwashed.
DUmmiedom and liberalism respect no religious or ethnic boundaries. As usual when trying to talk sense into a lib, I was wasting my time. But I will say that my mother has told me that many, many of them bitterly regret their idiocy now.
