Man Claims Glaxo Drug Made Him a 'Gay Sex Addict'

A 51-year-old married father of two is suing GlaxoSmithKline, saying the pharmaceutical company’s drug he took for Parkinson's disease has turned him into a gambling and gay sex addict, Agence France-Presse reported.

Didier Jambart, of Nantes, France, began taking Requip (ropinirole) in 2003, which is used to treat Parkinson’s disease -- a disorder of the nervous system that affects movement, muscle control and balance.

Jambart’s attorney said his client attempted suicide three times after he lost his family’s savings to Internet gambling and stole money for his habit.

Can a drug change your brain so much that you go from being totally straight to banging dudes left and right?  I honestly don't think I could touch another woman's junk with a gun to my head.

The only side effect listed that is close to "sexual" is this:

in men, difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection

Maybe France's drug labeling requirements are different, but it also includes this.

You should know that some people who took medications such as ropinirole developed gambling problems or other intense urges or behaviors that were compulsive or unusual for them, such as increased sexual urges or behaviors. There is not enough information to tell whether the people developed these problems because they took the medication or for other reasons. Call your doctor if you have an urge to gamble that is difficult to control, you have intense urges, or you are unable to control your behavior.

Oh wow! didn't see that, so maybe he does have a legitimate argument.

He can also be palying the system knowing that warning doesn't spell out every urge that becomes uncontrolable. It wouldn't be the first time someone lied to get cash.

Bufferin has destroyed my life.     I have been told to take one a day for my hearts health.   No where on the label does it say a side effect is a compulsion to eat Pizza, drink rum and coke, have sex with 18 year old boys or their fathers.

I believe I should have been warned about the side effects and will bring this up in court after that unfortunate incidence with the Gays boys I kidnapped in an attempted to turn straight.

Um, I have always "heard" that you are born gay.  If he wins this, wouldn't that negate that argument?

Those warnings were put on it after he filed suit.

nothing in the article indicates he wasn't gay to begin with, does it?   or is he just pissed he is now a sex addict?

GASP !!!!

Mr. Bunny, this a kin to asking if an Irish man is not born drunk.

An African male not born with a big appendage.

An Asian female not born with her lower parts built sideways.

Darn between you and Sparky I am going in circles to protect my heritage and you two are getting the best of me.

BTW Mr Bunny, what is YOUR heritage??

Me thinks his wife busted him "catching" from his boyfriend, either before or after she discovered that he'd cleaned out the savings account at Monte Carlo, and this was the first thing he could think of that wouldn't result in her chopping him up for chum.  And of course, now that he's offered the excuse, he has to follow through with it and sue the EEEEEEVIL pharma company that made him be that way.  :whatever:
