that all homeless people have mental health problems, and are just homeless because they couldn't get adequate mental health care. See, homelessness has nothing to do with economics!

the entire group would have been condemned because of his actions.
But he is a right-wing white guy, so the narrative MUST SAY that he is a lone nut-case. Those Are The Rules! The right, and white people can never, ever be held responsible as a group, but everyone else must always be smeared with group responsibility.
Because to people in power "we" are individuals, but "they" are only members of the groups by which we understand them.

Neal Boortz was saying a few weeks ago that this is why left wing radio failed. Because they would have to take calls. And that would be the death of them.
So, without the interesting banter, they're reduced to unplugging the phone and saying BUSH SUCKS over and over. Not a winning business model.
