Quote
An Indiana school district that told a black teenager to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" in a "traditional way" after receiving complaints about her performance is drawing questions now about whether the complaints and directive were racially motivated..

Shai Warfield-Cross, 16, has performed the national anthem at sports events at Bloomington High School North over the last year without incident. But school officials said they received complaints about her performance during a game in Martinsville..

Doesn't matter that she adds that friggin' yodeling crap at the end of every line, nah, it's because she is black :loser:

Not the worst version I've heard.  (My own attempts are recognizable only because of the words)

But it was a little annoying trying to track the tune with her wandering and changes of tempo.

FFS.

Stepping outside the respect to our National Anthem for just a moment and looking at the issue analytically from the point of a musician:

The National Anthem's melody requires a singer or instrumentalist to have a range of an octave and a half. It's clear to my ear that the girl does not have the ****ing PIPES to sing the melody. She alters the melody in the low range because she can't sing that low. She doesn't know what key she's singing in because she pokes and hopes. She doesn't know what she's doing, she has no idea where she's going, and all that results in this so-called "art" yodeling bullshit that some ****ing racist-bater is trying to shove down our throats.

In short, she doesn't have a clue what she's doing.

Game, set, and match.

Honey, go back to your church or wherever it is you do your singing and PRACTICE to have the ****ing SKILLS to sing this melody before you have the ******* GONADS to pick up a microphone and inflict your "voice" on other people.

The thing that pisses me off about this bullshit really has more to do with unskilled, untrained, inept, and positively clueless "performers" who know NOTHING about what they're doing, but someone slaps a microphone in their hands and they become a ****ing EXPERT.

Give me a break.

The asshats who scream about somebody's "right" to "express" themselves does NOT have to involve subjecting MY ears to that somebody's bullshit.
