Taking a serious DU break
not possible to keep this discussion today... or for that matter, any discussion.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x287438
Nothing worth seeing from other DUmmies so far, just the usual well wishes.

She'll be back tomorrow with one of her comically arrogant posts with dots in the title.... We're witnesses to the fall of the Empire.... And so it goes....

Nadin has crossed the Rubicon.

Nadin is in batten down the hatches mode while waiting for WWIII to commence.
How will the DUmmies survive without word-of-the-day Nadin?

Goodbye DU, Hello DU
I had posted this hoping to eat crow. But, after reading on HuffPo that legislative day one ended last night, it appears that the Democratic senators were just kabuki dancing for us. Is anybody shocked?
"Democratic lawmakers had expressed ambivalence about setting such a precedent for future chambers." In other words, Democratic leaders, while cowering in the corner after being frightened by their own shadows, were preparing for a loss in 2012 of senate control due to the piss-poor job of delivering the Change We Can Believe In.
"The parties may also reach an informal agreement under which Republicans would filibuster less in exchange for Democrats allowing them to offer more amendments." Using Obama's fail-proof negotiating techniques, the Democrats give away all their bargaining power first, then start to negotiate ... if the Republicons are interested ... maybe.
I'm done. When the term Democrat means what it did from FDR through Carter, then I will call myself a Democrat again. Until then, I'm calling myself an independent because I can no longer stand to have the word come out of my mouth. The leadership is full of cowards, as Whoopi once said not a ball between them.
Tragedy: In 2008, the Dems had a super majority and squandered it. Not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties. You believe their lies and watch them kabuki dance for you.
Hello, DU. I'm changing to a new login, one which reflects my political leanings. And, I'm taking a politics break. Since I've dropped MSNBC after KO was fired, hearing less about what the 'cons are doing has been great. A politics hiatus would be rejuvenating.
Best wishes everyone, I'll be back under a new handle in about a month.

3. How do you need a login to reflect your changed views?
Your present one is just a name; it's neutral. You've got more characters to express your beliefs with in your signature than in a login name. Just say what you want to there.
You appear to want to deny your past. What's the point? Has what you've written here been so embarrassing that you need to pretend it wasn't you? That journal entry doesn't look bad. If there's something else, will you tell us so we can read it? (Hey, it might be funny ...)

Her name always reminds me of the Li'l Abner character, Joe Btfsplk. Joe was always drawn with a little black cloud over his head, so it's apropos. As far as DUmmy nadinbrzhezchczeczski is concerned, if her all-knowing predictions of imminent end times are true, I hope she doesn't get my stuff after the Rapture.
-
I don't get why someone has to post a "I'm leaving, boohoo" thread. It wasn't even a good flounce.

Booby traps. Preferably baited with a bottle of Johnnie Walker.

We have now a bonna fide revolution Updated at 9:59 PM
that is not contained in one country. To get an idea of the geography, please consult to provided map, realize Tuniz is not technically in the ME, why it is not in the map.
So far we have revolts and rumors of revolts in both Egypt and Jordan (and Tunis)... from a real politik POV Tunis really doesn't matter, but Egypt and Jordan do. They are considered critical allies in the US and also are at peace with Israel.
This may expand, it is a tinder box... next candidates for this fun may actually be Saudi Arabia and yes to a point Syria and Lebanon. (Lebanon has seen a few revolts to)
It will really depend on who takes over after these governments fall just how much the balance of power changes. But the worst case scenario is that when all is said and done we have theocracies takung over. I don't think we will have a wave of theocracies taking over, but one or two would not surprise me.
Of course this is also not taking into account the shia\ sunni split. That will add something to the dynamic.
Regardless while I celebrate people finally going WE'VE HAD IT... when the dust settles it may be a very dangerous place... or (my hope) we will have a true democratic revolution take over. Most likely we will have a combo.
But pay attention to that map... and realize that yes... it matters. Not just because of the oil, by the way.
But for the moment we have a Tunis revolt, one well under way in Egypt, one well under way in Jordan and one well under way in Lebanon... pepto bismol comes to mind.

Your egypt update
Egypt unrest: Alert as mass protests loom
The government says it is open to dialogue but also warned of "decisive measures" as the fourth day of violent protests loomed.
Yes, Tehran comes to mind in another decade....

Next time we'll just hold her under and tell the cops she was drunk and fell in.

I think Cali is starting to get cynical and jaded about her fellow DUmmies. She's starting to make sarcastic, non-cheerleading remarks to them.

Sounds like even several prize DUmmies are getting fed up with her pompous gibberish!

There was another "crossing the Rubicon" thread there earlier this morning. I think nadia will be back tomorrow, the self-important pompous windbag that she is.

She needs her adoring fans.
Boy, she got a few spankings in the gun forum. I thoroughly enjoyed reading those replies.

I wonder if that idiot nadin knows that we have troops over there in country that are supposed to be keeping an eye on the border between Egypt and Israel.

She's too busy pontificating to know what is really going on.

I'm glad someone else caught that. I was going to drag it over.
Ever notice that Lil NaDa has one tab open to http://twitter.com/#!/BreakingNews and one to the DUmp and she spends all night crossposting? The Straight Guy does the same, it's like a competition.

between her and kpete, a long, boring, drawn-out cut-and-paste competition is going on. She just posted this a half hour ago, when is her break going to start?
-
Whoa.
There's currently 8 lurkers reading this near-two-year-old thread, and there's been a batch of others reading it all night long.
One wonders what's up with that.
