It's funny how sharply divided people on the left and right are on how to fix our economy. The left wants us to raise taxes. The right wants to lower taxes. My suggestion is we meet in the middle. Tax liberals and lower taxes for conservatives. That way both sides get what they want!
Being President has to be so easy. Why does Barry make it look so hard??

And exactly how many liberals would own up to being in that category. After all, their entire idology is built around making OTHERS pay for their largess........certainly not them.

Easy, if you're a registered "D" or vote in the dem primary, you're a liberal...

Dunno....most midwestern states have no voter record of what party affiliation you have, the same ballot is used for all parties, and no one knows how you vote. Here, at least, you can't "register" as a member of any party......you simply "register" to vote.

While others may have a differing view, I certainly don't consider myself a liberal. However I'll freely admit that I'm perhaps, partly in favor of a few liberal ideas or so. Any how, I would honestly be willing to absorb a tax increase if it would make an actual difference in the well being of our country.

Perhaps I view this issue too simplisticly, however, IMO, it is the role of the Federal government to fulfill the mandates, and live by the restrictions stated within the Constitution......nothing more, nothing less.
Should individual states prefer through the votes of their citizens to support a quasi welfare state, allow gay marriage, allow partial-birth abortion, tax the hell out of the rich to give to the welfare class, all that is OK....the rest of us can vote with our feet, so long as the residents of states that do not support these concepts are not required to pay for them either directly or indirectly (through bailouts).
Further, IMO, the only manner in which the fallacy of "progressive" or "social democratic" governments become widely apparent to the populace are for them to be attempted, and allowed to collapse, spectacularly, the resulting chaos widely visual, and a constant reminder to the voters (California, New York, and Illinois being prime examples).

Well, we could get a good start on it by just going back and checking for political donations to Dems. After all, those who did donate to them clearly can afford the extra taxes.

Could work, except for the fact that no one seems capable (or interested) in keeping track of foreign donations, which are clearly illegal.
Then there are the sneaky types like myself, who limit individual donations to under $200 a shot.......therefore never being legally required to divulge the name, or address of the donor.......you can do that all day long, and leave "no tracks in the newly fallen snow".
