I'd blame the teacher's unions and Bill Clinton for this atrocity, but that would be intolerant of me now that we live in the age of the new tone and civility.
A teacher at Oakland’s Markham Elementary School has been suspended indefinitely after school officials said a pair of second-graders performed sex acts on each other in class – with the teacher present.
“I think everyone is taken aback over this shocking incident,†Troy Flint, the spokesman for the Oakland Unified School District, told CBS 5 on Thursday. “Of course, it is hard to understand how that could have occurred.â€
Really, it's hard to understand how this could happen? Hello! We're talking about Oakland here.
Flint said the sex acts incident was one of two separate cases under investigation involving the teacher; both incidents occurred last week in the same classroom but he said they didn’t come to the attention of school officials until Wednesday.
In one case, several students apparently took off their clothes and were naked in the classroom. In the second incident, a boy and girl reportedly engaged in oral sex in front of their classmates.
Flint indicated that the suspended teacher, whose name was not released by the school district, was present for both of the incidents.
The teacher is only suspended? And why isn't the teacher being named?
The district conducted a number of interviews Thursday to verify the child's report. While some of the details remain vague -- such as when the two incidents occurred, and if they happened at the same time, Flint said. "We believe the substance of the story is true," he said.
Counselors have been brought to the school, and a letter went home to families Thursday, Flint said.
"Obviously it's a horrible situation for the kids, and it's a huge embarrassment for the school and for the district," Flint said.
"We are striving to create schools as safe havens where students can feel secure and trust in adult guidance," he added. "Obviously, that trust was violated in this incident, which was unacceptable. We're going to get to the bottom of this and make sure there's no recurrence. "

The teacher should be in prison. It's obvious that she's a voyeur. I like girls a LOT when I was in second grade. However, SEX was the furtherest thing on my mind. The sadder fact is that second graders even know about sex. Investigate the parents?? Nahh, shut down the damned schools!! (at least until they get a grip on things)

They will never get a "grip" on things as long as the kids run everything. There is no punishment allowed for fear of hurting the dipshit's aura. Parent's are afraid of losing their "friend" kid's love. The future is ****ed.

Agreed. Read in the local fishwrap today about a guy up in Cairo, MO, who appeared before a federal judge and pleaded guilty for having child porn. (Cairo's a town of maybe 300 people.)
What kind of sick **** would actually PRODUCE that stuff, much less "have" it? Good God, think of those kids wrapped up in that horror and how messed up they'll be for the rest of their lives.

Leftists run the school system, people are enamored of liberalism and have been for decades, we are living in the aftermath of the "Sexual Revolution" where if it feels good, do it. This is the natural result of the irresponsible, liberal sexual mores that were adopted decades ago.
If you hold yourselves to a high standard of moral behavior and believe wholly in it, you will eventually teach it to your children as a natural result of holding those beliefs, yourself. But, if you have a low standard of moral behavior and strongly believe in that, you'll teach that to your children eventually. No one has one set of passionate beliefs and teaches another set to their children.
Way to go, liberals.

Last thing a little kid needs is to have their parents called to the school and informed the their child would no cooperate with them. Had any kid walked out of the class and disrespected the teachers comand to sit down, then what for the child. I am sure that the class room was full of little kids amazed at what the teacher was making their class mates do, how did the kids know this was wrong as a TEACHER was in charge.??

That is a very deragatory statement sometimes kids/people make false statements and later reveal the truth i don’t believe it it sounds unreal in front of a whole classroom? is the whole classroom witnesses? just remember there are 2 sides to every story a 2nd grader wow after teaching school for 20 years & yes i do have 1 that’s in kindergarten ,1st,,2nd,3rd,5th,6th,7th,,8th,&9th i never heard of any such thing what’s going on in that kid home? or in their minds ? this need to be dealt with accordingly and yes please get down to the real nitty-gritty!!!!!

I believe you all have not got the point of my post, children are after all humans, their family can teach them whatever in the home, church whatever.---These kid soon leave the home for school unless they are home schooled and watched over 24/7 for the world outside their parents control.
Most parents work a job and there is little time for them to be on top of there kids activity's and really get inside their heads on how the view life. About the only time a parent sits up and pays attention is when their child has a big problem, but then the parent may have other things on their mind or be so liberal they see no problem.
We turn our precious children over to strangers sometimes at 6 weeks old, to care for while we work to make money to feed them. In no way do we expect our infants to be abused. Later there is preschool and on to public school.-----What do we know of the influence others have set for our kids in the 5-6 years that others were in charge of them for 40 hours a week and you get to spend a max of 10 hours a week with them--Kids have to sleep, need play time and you your self need to get some rest. Few parents spend their weekend Solly with their kids, they have to shop and may wish to go out for the evening.
Children spend a maximun of perhaps 2 hours with their parents, one on one, at the 2nd grade level. Watching TV movies do not count nor does running for beer runs to the ice box when a parent has friends in.
The predators know all this and step in to befriend the child, spend twice the time their parents do and make no demands on a child. It is all so ease to find a child that needs and wants attention. This is in no way the parents fault, one can research all the Adults their kids come into contact with. Working parents can call the school board, the police or even check up on Scout leaders or their Pastor, but how do they know the information they get is fact.?
I ran into this when my son was a boy scout from his Parash. Some one asked me what I know about Scouting, and my sons experience was horrible. The Scout master was a hero to my boy, he idolised that man. He and his dad went on a few camping events and both came home all happy about them. The master had a wife that was 8 months pregnant and was one heck of a guy.
Door opens and in comes my son screaming, his Scout Master was dead.--He was found nude after being shot in the head at the bottom of a hotel when he had been thrown off of at the 6 floor.
My child's dad went into some kind of denial and could not or would not even discuss this with my Boy. He went so far as to refuse to talk to me about the campinging trips he and my son had been on. My son recovered much faster then his father, he also I think believed in this man and his death rocked him to the core.
Raising kids is the work from hell, one never knows what to expect, how to protect them is often impossible. In this case however, had my child been told to strip down and demonstrated how to give a perfect BJ because her teacher told her to, the teacher would have no worries after that, she would have gone missing, along with the other administers that approved of her actions.
Any one offended, feel free to suspend me--or block me, but this is my life and how I saw it.

It's not unusual for young kids to know more than they should when if they have an older sibling. My boys were 5 years apart and while I don't know whether either one knew that a cigar could be used as a dildo (or maybe it's that a vagina can be used as a humidor), my youngest learned quite a few things I would have preferred he not know at a younger age. There were a few kids in the neighborhood whose oldest siblings were even older. The big brothers and sisters probably do this for the shock value...like like telling them there's no Santa Claus.

Yupo I do get bent and now I have an apology to Sparky, I today read the local paper from Bangor Maine and was appalled at what society has become up there.
I would think this stuff we read on the internet from any paper in any State has all ways gone on.
Quickie here, in High School a few of us decided to investigate an abandoned house. Nothing inside but some of the walls had been insulated with newspapers from NY.and had survived the 60-70 years to be able to be read. I pulled down a bunch of them as I had an interest in history and brought them home to read----UNBEVEABLE what life in that city was like at that time.
I was going to school in New Hampshire at that time and when the new school year started we had a Civics class that the teacher a male asked us to right a paper on how things had changed in the last 100 years. I wrote on the news of the day in NY. gave a bibliography and dates of the papers published, actually wrote 5 pages on the times of that stuff.----Result was an F+ as the teacher called my paper a flight of fancy, no such things had ever happen and that I had lied about the bibliography and the source.
I hand carried the papers to his office to show him my source and he became enraged would not even look at them and then called my parents to tell them I was Anti-American. Then he questioned my parents about their political beliefs.
What does this have to do with Maine being a stupid state---States are only filled with stupid people if their teachers are stupid and half crazy, pervert or just teaching until a better job comes along.
