Getting rid of KO has to be worst business decision since New Coke

For you youngsters, Coke changed their formula in 1985...It went over so bad that New Coke was replaced by Coke Classic within months, perhaps sooner...

Well, getting rid of KO, the networks highest rated show host, makes about as much ****ing sense as New Coke....So what, KO may have been a difficult person, Hollywood (and the sports world) are FILLED with difficult and overbearing people...They aren't fired...I'm sure there are people WAAAY more difficult to work with than KO...

Next MSNBC will probably get rid of all their hosts and just run "Lock-Up" 24/7...

On a side note, one of the hosts on the older "Lock-Uo" episodes was John Siegnthaler, who use to anchor the weekend NBC News as well.....Along with KO, John Siegthaler was another casualty of NBC/MSNBC....Siegnthaler was way better than Brian Williams....

"F" you NBC Universal Comcast or whatever the hell your name is...

Well maybe not, since people actually cared when coke changed its formula.
Other than a handful of moonbats no one cares either way whether Keef has a show or not.

What you didn't really notice asswhipe, is that was Coke's ploy to change from using REAL sugar to using High Fructose Corn Syrup when they returned to their pseudo "original formula".

As much as I hate `em (Coke lefties) I enjoy Diet Rite Cola with Splenda.

Is it true that MSNBC is going to run an hour long ShamWow informercial in Keef's old time slot?

I used to be a Coke classic fan. I gave up drinking all soda a couple years back, cold turkey. As for the HFCS 'pretender' - during Passover Coke produces the original with actual sugar for a limited time every year. Look for the yellow bottlecaps, then stock up. The local supermarket I shop at is about a quarter mile from a large synagogue, so its easy for me to find. Trust me, It'll be like you died and went to 1985.

If you don't live near a large Jewish population go to the Hispanic food aisle and see if they have Mexican coke.

If you do though, Pesach is from April 18-26 this year, so that's the time to look.

The ShamWow guy would be a worthy successor to Keef. It'd be just like when Dan Rather replaced Cronkite.

I'm sure it would have a ratings increase!

I like how the DUmmies are completely ignoring the fact that UberDork thought he was worth more than Comcast was willin' to pay and basically caused his own demise. Arrogant ****!

They keep preachin' the politics when actually it was a self appointed important dipshit that removed himself from the limelight!

The only bad thing about the decision for MSNABC is the amount of Danegeld they had to pay to get him to leave.

I think both the shamwow guy and Kweef have assaulted hookers too.

As to the bad business decision, first do not speak of what you have no concept of. Second, REPLACEMENT HOSTS were getting better ratings than Kweef. Ergo, it was, in fact a good business decision.  To the OP DUmbass, see the first item.

Sounds to me like 7 mil a year is way more than this guy is worth, yet he wanted more! See ya asshat! That's certainly what I would a told the puke! I find it hard to believe he pulled enough advertisin' in to make up for that insane salary and the cost of the mechanics of his show.

There's also a rumor he wanted out in order to put his mug on his own crap on the web, ala Huffington, Puffington Post style, so he demanded more than they would pay in order to leave. He was known thruout NBC as a total prick to work with, so I imagine he made a complete ass of himself, thus acceleratin' his departure.

17. Unless they hire someone else who gets better ratings.
He was third place in his time slot after Fox and CNN.

We don't know what their plan is yet but they definitely weren't winning anything with Olbermann.

We will see the end of all of them, Maddow, Ed Show, Tweety, ect. It wouldn't surprise me if MSN tried to out fox, FOX.

Nawwww, no worries. MSNBC won't become a reputable and fair new outlet that doesn't censor information and propagandize for any political party, like Fox. It'll still be a propaganda arm of the Obama admin/Dems. Changes will only be cosmetic, not to editorial policy, such as they have.

I hate the TV. I got rid of the last one I had a couple of years ago. It only wound up in my space after a roommate brought it home. I've gone for many years at a time with no TV. I would say that probably 75% of my friends do not have a TV.

This post illustrates the chasm between democrats and normal people. I would have to say that since the '50s I haven't known even one person who didn't have a TV.

This 'I have no TV' thing is a load of crap. Almost every primitive claims it to be true, yet they all know whats going on in the entertainment world.

11. I got rid of my TV service altogether.
I downgraded my Comcast to phone and internet only.

I watch TV clips on the Internets Tubes though.

And there you have it - I don't have a 'Television' - I just watch what I want on my monitor instead.. See!!! No TV !!!

Webster enjoys misleading his primitive counterparts via suggestion.

Immediately after the host said his goodbyes, speculation started that his departure had something to do with the recently approved merger between NBC Universal and Comcast.

"Of course that is an easy angle to take considering the timing," an individual close to the company told TheWrap, "but it is not true."

The Comcast merger is set to occur next Friday, January 28.

"Comcast has not closed the transaction for NBC Universal and has no operational control at any of its properties including MSNBC," Comcast said in a statement late Friday night. "We pledged from the day the deal was announced that we would not interfere with NBC Universal's news operations.  We have not and we will not."

The tempestuous Olbermman did however, according to the New York Times, “[come] to an agreement with NBC’s corporate management late this week to settle his contract and step down.”

Comcast may not change the line-up for content reasons, but you can bet your ass they are going to demand that the personalities produce the revenue stream in viewership and hence advertising to justify their salaris, which would have been a huge leap for Oberdork.  Basically if you divide what they were paying him by his average viewership, it looks like quite a pricetag per viewer...then if you actually dig in the demographics to find out most of those watchers are either broke malcontent Leftie/anti-corporate college students without jobs, or aging hippies on disability, the deal looks worse and worse the farther you dig.

Looks to me like part of the deal when they bought out GE was they agreed to leave NBC news alone. I don't think they can really do anythin' for a coupla years. But, it has been my experience, contracts are made to be broken, so we will see. Comcast didn't get into this deal to lose money, and that's all MSLSD has done for years!

Yeah...Comcast will let them KEEP whoever they want to as far as content goes...but the money's gonna have to add up for the viewership numbers and demo if Comcast is gonna authorize them to keep getting PAID the same amount for their, ahh, 'Talent.'

Ahm pretty sure "talent" has a completely different definition when it comes to the opinion of Comcast and MSLSD! Ya don't spend billions in order to lose money!

I can see you guys are all broken up over Keef.  I can tell because the conversation immediately turned to the various pros and cons of soft drinks and how they are formulated.   :-)

BTW, I noticed at the Dollar Store they had something called Mountain Dew Throwback or something like that.  Real cane sugar.  Can't stand MD, though it's extremely popular here.

This cane sugar vs. HFCS business is as bogus as bottled water, or the MSG hoax, but it is more important than Keef.

Yeah, it's retro!  They have the old style packaging, and tossed in the sugar.  Just to make us want to buy it, to remind us of our youth.  Sigh.  I didn't drink it then, and I am not drinking it now.
