Dayum, she should have burnt that bridge instead of possibly allowing the jerk to get a share. I would ask what his DU name is, but it seems like he keeps in contact with his kids anyway. that's un-DUmmielike.

A good lesson for woman who decide to dump their husbands for any reason. This husband beat the hell out of her, but continued to pay child suport for his kids. Short term thinking, all the years both could claim taxes on their IRS and split the difference of a few thousand.
Woman with children that have no choice but to run, must think long term. Sure they may never win a lottery but the pit falls are plenty.
The reaction from the father of her children is all so telling, "Wow, no more child support" sweet, but he is still responsible for those kids.
I do not know what these parents are thinking, depends on State laws, but we seem to have a father that paid child support as he was forced to do and cannot wait to be rid of what he conciders a burden---SAD.
Quick story, a Bowling partner of mine told me she had a "Perfectally good husband and father to her kids." she divorced him when his best friend came on all so strong. She married the husbands best friend and a year later the EX won a Million dollar lottery. She got the State to put most of his winnings in trust for their kids and she went on her merry way. For the next 20 years she ignored her new husband his running around on her, the house and cars, every bit of money was in her name. Finally the Husband found a woman that really needed him, and he left her for good.
Biggest mistake that man ever made,---his wife had been his security for 20 years and now he was responsible for his new wife that had teenagers and made his life a hell. The ex wife's kids grew up and came into the money left in trust for them, his Ex now lives clear of the mortgage and still works at 62 years of age.
I see how this could have been different had the Ex husband never won the lottery, had this woman told her husbands best friend to take a hike, how, if the wife shit canned the new husband when she first found out he was a Snake and she was still young enough to recoup her losses.
GOD, Kama, comes in here, one never knows when their life will change, when what we think is good luck out turns out to be a nightmare.
Check into the winners of megabucks, how many go bankrupt in 3-5 years, how the big bucks have destroyed their lives.
Moral of this story is, if one is loved and in a situation that benefits the family, NEVER get all rilled up to change things.
From the 60's a song, " If you cannot be with the one you love---Love the one you are with."
