The Final Countdown lyrics
Songwriters: Tempest, Joey;

We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?
I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?

It's the final countdown
The final countdown

Ohh
We're heading for Venus and still we stand tall
'Cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all, yea
With so many light years to go and things to be found
(To be found)
I'm sure that we'll all miss her so

It's the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown
(The final countdown)
Ohh ho ohh

The final countdown, oh ho
It's the final countdown
The final countdown
The final countdown
(The final countdown)

Ohh
It's the final countdown
We're leaving together
The final countdown
We'll all miss her so
It's the final countdown
(The final countdown)
Ohh, it's the final countdown
Yea

Thank you, sir.

I wondered what that was about; I figured it might be some sort of "farewell" song.

indeed -

The band was a part of the 80's 'Hair Metal' scene, and for the hearing, the song has a terrible earworm effect - meaning it tends to play in ones head over and over again uncontrollably.

Like most Hair Metal bands, their time of popularity was short-lived, and all of their endeavors since have fallen flat, at least in the USA. They still exist as a band, but for the most part, nobody knows of them outside of their native Sweden.

Yeah, but damn at the time they all looked pretty damn hawt! CC DeVille, Sammy Hagar, and the Toxic Twins...yummm! (I was young and foolish. Good times!)

"Toots" was in luv with KISS! Though I'm pretty sure it was the tongue instead of the music! hehe!

Ya' think? :banghead: :-)

I'm tempted to BS you for the earworm, but I won't.  It was an excellent idea.  It also reminds me of Gob on Arrested Development.

Indeed -- that video resulted in a glob of lungbutter that would have been unpleasant to clean out of my keyboard If I wasn't lucky enough to have a wastebasket nearby.. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up !
