I give Rachael Maddow Six Months
She's been able to survive largely because she is so even tempered and knows how to manuever. She is admirable in being able both to stick to her principles while also knowing how to play the game.
But that won't be enough once the corporate straightjacket is placed on MSNBC by the Obama/FCC/DOJ-approved Comcast deal takes.
Try as she might, they will impose conditions that are so restrictive and onerous on her that she will find it impossible to maintain her standards of truth-telling.

1. I disagree. First, I think she likes the power. Secondly, I think and do not know that her drinking
might cloud her mind. She may be good but she is stubborn and tenacious yet her flaws might keep her there.
Uh-oh, moonbat glinda takes a swing at The Munch.

4. Her drinking?
She does not exhibit the signs of a drinker to me. She's an ex bartender so she has an interest in it. So am I but that doesn't make a drinker out of me either. However, it doesn't mean I don't take a drink on social occasions and I'm sure she does too.

3. She might survive longer. She was able to maneuver all the strum und drang at Air America when craziness ruled there. She mentioned something about what she would talk about that was written into her contract. If they try to break or bend the contract, that may be a deal breaker for her.
Strum und drang? It's a bluegrass band. Played at the Ryman on one of the Thursday night bluegrass shows last summer, I think. But it's rare to see a butch lesbo like The Munch at a bluegrass show.

In order to have a standard of truth telling, you first have to establish one. And no one on the left has the authority to determine what is and isn't truth, nor will they ever. That's up to those of us who live in reality.
And Air America was a horrible name for that attempt at radio. It was on the air, but had nothing to do with freedom and justice, so using the word "America" was the wrong term.
